So the Xbox One is indeed the inferior system, after all. This pretty much confirms it, and shows us that the difference in resolution will be a norm for the future.
Meltic,
How do you know it's the last-gen version that they showed in the trailer? Is there any source to that?
Just to avoid some misunderstanding on the author's side- first I didn't understand why he thinks it would look better on Xbox One than PC as well, but then I read the article and noticed that he has a low-end GPU, and it all fit together. Sure, the next-gen version of the game may look better on an Xbox One compared to HIS configuration, but if his sole reason to buy an XBO was to play Titanfall (as he suggested in the article), I'd still advise the author to sell his old GPU, an...
I didn't even know about this game, and dayum does it look great! Thanks for the heads up, guys.
And suddenly, graphics don't matter anymore.
I'll give you guys only ONE reason to keep your consoles and have fun with it: exclusives.
Next generation of muddy textures and washed out graphics, that is.
Not only the difference is very obvious, anything below your monitor/HDTV's native resolution, you can notice. The game gets considerably washed up if you go below 1680x1050.
It's 2014 people, 1080p should be the norm now.
But I would.
You know what I noticed, the thing that's in common with those three games mentioned is the genre. They're shooters, and I guess that's what Xbox One needs, right? Shooters, as if the Xbox platform didn't have enough.
(spoiler free)
The game's finale is perfect as it is. It's the writer's own vision and idea of what the story should be like that shaped the ending- and the Last of Us, without any compromise or any input from a second perspective, is the story they PRECISELY wanted to convey. Even the slightest change on the story would spoil the entire magic surrounding the game's script for me.
Besides, if they wanted you to shape the ending the way you pre...
Give me the HD remake for the original Metal Gear games on MSX2, and then you can stop doing remakes for eternity and I'd be fine with that.
And how many of them are downloadable PSN titles? It's either that or there are tons of games coming up that we're not aware of yet.
Bundle it with whatever you like, I know I'll stick with my fat, yet the superior version of the Vita with a crystal clear OLED screen.
Razmossis,
I think it was cut at the writing level, where Kojima originally intended to direct such a scene, but never had the chance to do so due to the incident. I don't think there's a footage somewhere containing that said scene, as it never happened.
Spinal,
What you're saying is absolutely correct, I wouldn't argue that games like LoU would look better on PCs due to the hardware capabilities, as I have a good gaming rig myself. But what I meant is, you wouldn't see games like that on PC as game developers are not making fully optimized games that use the every little bit of juice the hardware has. Multiplatform games look better on PC, but that's about it. There are no devs like former Crytek to showcase ...
Holy molly. GT loves 'em some Assassin's Creed, I guess. That's probably going to be the highest score that is given to the game for a while.
"There's a storm coming, Mr. Wayne."
Possibly a mid-end PC, with a quad-core processor and mid/entry level GPU like HD 7750/GTX 550ti accompanied by 8 gigs of DDR3 RAM (which is dirt cheap nowadays). That system could play any multiplatform game on 1080p with an acceptable frame-rate (around 30-40).
Exclusives are a different story, though. They usually set the standarts for the best visuals on ANY platform (such as The Last of Us) so I'm not sure if more hardware power=better graphics at this point, it'...
They might as well call it the Downgrade Dogs, because that's just what it is.
