It may have been downhill, but it's still higher than most of the other hills nearby.
Halo is one of the highest quality game franchises in existance. Just quality in general - they really do an amazing job making those games.

That would be great, but consoles are not an open platform so it means that Sony/MS and DICE/EA have to approve first... Very little chance of MS or EA allowing it.
All gaming platforms should be open tbh, it would be better for everyone - though the console stakeholders want to be able to control how their platform is used so they can make as much money as possible through it - not caring at all about the end-users as long as they are happy to pay for it.

Oblivion's "expansions" added like 10% extra gameplay to the game.
Morrowind's expansions added about as much content as the entirety of Oblivion.
If they follow that trend, what will Skyrim's dlc add exactly? Probably a new sword or something... so meh, no real need to feel any pressure to get the 360 version for timed dlc - unless of course they make it overpowered or look reall...

Having more than the 360 doesn't really say much when you realise that last-gen consoles had thousands of exclusives (games made by gamers, for gamers. The shovelware was usually PS2 exclusive too because of the install base - but along side the thousands of great exclusives).
But in the context of this console generation, you are quite right.

Charging for XBL is charging people to use their own internet connections that they have already paid for.
The multiplayer bandwidth is peer to peer in about 99.999% of 360 games, hence MS are just getting free money - and they don't pay for the few games that do have dedicated servers anyway (the developers/publishers do)
MS only have to run servers that are comparitable to the servers that Sony run anyway, and ...

There are still only about 20 great exclusives though (and most people wont like all the exclusives because they cater to different tastes), so if somebody already owns a 360 or gaming PC for multiplats then £175 is a lot.
But more people need to own PS3s and the price drop will do that; Sony are friendly to developers and don't charge for multiplayer and that keeps gaming pure, a future with paid peer to peer multiplayer is just stupid and I hope microsoft don't...

I rarely get DLC anyway, so not really.
I won't be buying it at launch though incase it is failboat, which seems to be what most used-to-be-good devs seem to like doing these days.

Regenerating health didn't really matter in CoD caus the only things that could kill you were grenades - in 1 hit :P
Halo is probably the only game that deserves regenerating health because it did it right in the first place, in most cases - a proper old school health bar is best for gameplay.
