You mean while you make other peoples' ideas work because they are inherantly flawed due to their lack of understanding? And then they get all the credit for the outcome :P

woooh. Some crazy new mechanics with those items!

Gonna be great.

Nice. But when you view the source image to get a close look they are all heavily JPEG compressed which kind of defeats the purpose of providing them :/

The game itself running infront of you will look sharper.

Maybe I'm just a bit of a geek, but I want to see the sub surface scattering and tessellation showing off - which can't be seen properly in a compressed image.

Yeah, the newer ones don't seem to be any more impressive than the first iCEnhancer one that was up.

They add like, 1 new shader which all their modding buddies are impressed with and then go and post it up everywhere when infact it is just a small aditional detail that most of us don't care about in the bigger picture.

But, looking at the screenies: throw in higher res environment textures, tesselation and some slightly higher poly counts on curves -...

Nothing wrong with controllers.

Mouse may be better for a lot of games, but that doesn't detract fom the usefulness of controllers.

Then again, controllers are also better for a lot of games too.

But the input peripheral is a moot point these days anyway.

What? By making opponents respawn behind you more than they did already?

wtf are YOU talking about?!

MS would LOSE a LOT of money from that partnership.

5382d ago 2 agree3 disagreeView comment

er.... you clearly don't know what OnLive is.

Firstly: the royalties for games (you know, CoD and other third party titles) are paid TO microsoft by the publishers/developers per unit sold - that (and XBL fees) is where the bulk of their profit comes from. They make a loss (or did at the start of the gen) on console sales to get them into people's homes so they have a platform in which to gain royalties on from unit sales.

OnLive runs PC versions of t...

Won't happen, OnLive and Microsoft are competitors. MS would get nothing out of this and infact LOSE a LOT of money. They make money from physical game sales and lose money from console sales (at least they did at the start of the gen), why would they want to pay for OnLive to have a platform to profit off of to the detriment of their current and future business model?

I guess we now know to ignore anything from "xbox 360 mag Italy" now because this is the secon...

Mass Effect had a good story, good environments and good character development.

Elder Scrolls has good RPG mechanics.

I think Mass Effect is a really, really, really good universe/idea/concept but, for me, the game itself fails to properly pull it off.

An MMO in the mass effect universe would probably be a massive hit (as in 7mil+ subscribers), and a very good option to capture the potential console MMO market. But bioware are already fully i...

Uncharted is probably the best of this generation.

Remember that loads of 'gamers' this gen are quite new to the whole thing and have probably never played most of the world's best games.

er... biggest leap? What?
Biggest leap in technology.
But a backwards plane journey in gameplay, content and general "soul".

This list is clearly by a new 'gamer'.

Feels too much like Gears of War to me. But it does have proper LOADS of enemies and does a lot of interesting things. I just think the movement feels off.

Maybe kids with a low opinion of parents are more likely to be hardcore gamers?

Idiot "researchers".

@darkride66

PC gaming is a lot simpler, cheaper and more compatible these days than it ever has been in the past.

Pretty much any/all issues that happen now are caused by problems with console ports.

Consoles had a genuine reason to exist in the past, but now they are becomming redundant. They only exist because they create their own money-making market for the platform holder and the publishers (they are very bad for developers, if the game ...

FF13? That S#@T FEST? Lol... if you havn't already - pick up Lost Odyssey for your 360, it is amazing and certainly 50x the game that ff13 is. It's made by the staff who left Squaresoft when Enix came in to break the games and is the true FF13; honestly it could be named FF13 and it would fit right in.

Lost Odyssey is the only reason I don't feel ripped off for wasting £300 on a 360.

Yeah lol, this is the worst argument article against PC gaming I have ever seen.

I could write a better one and I am a PC gamer lol.

I'm guessing you have no idea about the hundreds of PC exclusives that are released every year? And they don't cost £40/$60 a pop either (most of that doesn't even go to the developers who deserve it by the way, so you are paying to rip them off and reduce the number of quality games being made).

"we don’t get to lay down and slouch as we play our games"
Don't we? I do quite often, it's called a controller - you just plug it in or sync it and it works! Magic! I save my mouse+kbd for games that need the combo (rts/moba games) and multiplayer fps play, for everything else I controller it up if possible.

Also, the author forgot:
# mods
# extremely vast library of games
# high frame rate (les input lag/more responsive)
