you'll get an ugly picture if you watch a fast paced movie in 1080i. most of you probably know how progressive and interlacing work, so i won't bother explaining it. noticeably, you'll get screen tearing (not sure of the official term) because the camera pans quickly and the display speed isn't fast enough to make up for the delay in rendering every other line on the tv.

it'd be funny if they ran a smear campaign. because i'm willing to bet that a lot of people don't know that the a2 doesn't do 1080p. i know a good argument is that a lot of people don't own 1080p tvs, but this holiday season, i can easily see that changing. almost every HDTV coming out has 1080p support and sales are expected to rise ...

to my knowledge, ps3 doens't upscale ps3 games. only ps2 and psx games. so it has to run at 1080p native for the ps3 version
