that effectively shuts down every rumor...
also, (don't quote me on this) i believe that since psychological warfare plays a strong role in this game, the ps3 does have a slight advantage because it can process more AI stuff (remember that branching AI article?). some enemies would be scared, some still brave, all running around on the same map.
but you can't deny that most of the stuff he's said is mostly true.
both these games look amazing... though i'll probably pick up heavenly sword first
pish... at least try to keep the bs to a minimum until the end...
thats brilliant!! and i thought you were being serious at first..
what a sad joke... a better one would have been "microsoft fixes defective systems.."
forgot that it was april first... i jumped a little when i read it
the backlash is warranted. because people are expecting the problems that came with the first two models to come with this one. but only time will tell (as with all things.)
but i can't wait to see what 360 fanboys say when developers start implementing installation of parts onto the hdd into games... since they're giving ps3 so much flak for it
its not sony's fault buddy...
but yeah, as statistics says, such a small sample size of a such a large population gives inaccurate results...
however, of a sample this size, its still quite amazing that so many had faulty units..
1080p on 60" is good enough for me... lol
are 32 million pixels really necessary? like someone above said, you won't notice the difference until you get a huge huge huge tv
for posting a nice little research paper that happens to be incorrect in this topic... do you have it saved in a word doc just so you can whip it out and show the size of your e-penis when you feel like it?
anyways, after the initial install, the game will load faster and play smoother than if you were to play it off the disk. reason why you need to install on a ps3? cause developers know it runs faster and smoother if theres a portion of the data on the hdd. fortunately fo...
i have to agree with this comment. i've heard horror stories from my friends that they've gone through 2 or 3 units already. i've never that about it in that way before...
the problems can't be that wide spread can they?
my example of EA is probably the exception rather than the rule. i forgot about epic and most of sony's first and second party devs.
but i don't think Bungie is the best example... remember their "yeah, we screwed up halo 2" a few weeks ago? they crapped out a product knowing millions would buy it.
is that digital downloads for music is fine, but for videos, i think its out of the question. when the market adjusts to the HD standard, 120gb (or 60gb) won't nearly be enough to hold videos and movies. thats why i think disk media will play an important role in the future.
and for all the people complaining about HDTV saturation in the market; isn't the FCC requiring all broadcasts to be in HD by 2008 or 2009? (feel free to correct me if i'm wrong). you'll need a HDTV to ...
i don't really like Lost Plant (yes i've played it)
but anyways, i have to agree with the capcom guy. publishers like EA publish garbage every year and sell millions. when they can't make a better game than their competitor, they buy out the license (2k sports anyone?)
the only hope i have left for EA is army of two, and i haven't heard much news on that front for ages
by playing "catch up" sony means m$ is implementing features that were deliberately left out in the first two sku's because m$ felt they were not needed. but m$ underestimated the technology growth and now they need to put those features in or risk producing an inferior console.
sony does not mean "catch up" in terms of sales. i would have thought that people understand the difference in the two meanings of the phrase, but i guess not.
i agree with everything you've said. m$ underestimated the rate that digital media grows. they need to update their system so that it keeps with the changing times
while in the short run, it might be a little costly to learn a new platform, but if they want to, once they get a hold of things, games will come easier, cheaper, and better.
and yes, sony has been pumping out better developer tools which hopefully will mean better looking games in the near future.
the ps2 was complicated to program for, but once developers learned how to use it, it had games that eclipsed most xbox games and even some 360 games.
Haha. lots of hate here :-p
regardless of how you read this article , its hard not to think that M$ is trying to play "catch up." don't write me off for a fanboy (though i am slightly bias towards sony), but as of now, sony does have the superior console in terms of features. M$ is taking a step in the right direction by adding a larger hdd and hdmi connectivity.
