The only thing scary about this are the controls and shitty skills of the player. Yeah lets use the scope on a zombie thats 3 feet away. Brilliant.
Crysis 2 is crap compared to this.
They should've left Elena just the way she was. She's supposed to be spunky reporter with a slight hint of hick in her, now she looks like model.
Oh and when are they going to learn? Don't chase after treasures, all of them are probably cursed or protected a swarm of hideous monsters. Also if Drake has an ounce of brain he should never board an airplane or train again, but noooooo...
None the games referenced from 5-2 were of any import. Some people even considered Shadow Warrior and C&C: Renegade to be cult classics.
But not having Haze on that list is ridiculous.
Anyone familiar with the history of Daikatana will tell you that it's impossible for a FPS to bomb that bad ever again.
DNF actually looks average and Haze was the victim of the PS3's early Cell based woes. But Daikatana is an entirely different sort of epic fail all together.
It takes a special brand of incompetence and hubris to produce an epic bomb like Daikatana.
I was thinking about this http://ghostrecononline.us.... which actually looks decent LOL. In which case this Future Solider game looks worst than shit, $60 for that? No, hell no. Did anyone catch the typical Unreal engine texture pop in and out during the G4 preview? Good god.
I certainly hope so.
But the combat is still very same-ie. There's no weight to anything, mobs jump at the screen to be wacked aside like they're rag dolls filled with air.
When blows do connect, the enemy on screen doesn't response to them. There isn't enough of a visceral feel to it, and melee combat still feels like your disembodied hand is hacking away at a hit points box until it drops dead.
Not surprisingly the in game footage is very average looking and devoid of wow moments. I want see how this game can actually look on the PC with real game play footage.
Watched the preview on G4, looks like another game with average graphics and subpar textures. Nothing I haven't seen already in the last three years. At least it's free?
This is what RPG combat should be like. There's no tension and fear to most of the RPGs out there anymore. I just wish there's a way to replicate this kind of tension and thrill of combat in other games without employing the same draconian game save mechanics.
This is my favorite part of E3. The booth babes. I particular love booth babe pics with nerdy guys draped over them while giving the thumbs up sign.
Once in a while there's a game at E3 with visuals and gameplay that doesn't need to be hyped. You can see it on the screen, you can see the leap in graphics and gameplay.
BF 3 is that game.
What previews like this doesn't show is what Bioware and EA are doing to prevent this game from turning into another souless multimillion dollars theme park.
They're trying so hard to beat WoW that they seem to forget why all the so called WoW killers like Age of Conan, WAR, and even Rift have either failed or failing.
Thats more like it. You're probably getting a shadow of the PC's lush graphics and textures anyways. No point in paying for more and getting less like the consoles always do.
Save your bucks for games that are actually tailored for your platform of choice. For example I never buy any of Bethesda's (the Fallouts) RPGs for the PS3. They look like shit with frequent freezes and bugs to boot. Where as on the PC there's mod supports and screaming graphics.
...
I find his interest in BF3 to be rather odd since semi-realistic military frag fest isn't his style....unless it involves giant robots and stealth mechanics involving cardboard boxes.
LOL how about Playstation Gia, Japanese fantasy games are usually heavy in their tree hugging themes.
Naw, it'll never work. Gaming tech and green or medi-physical none sense doesn't mix. More than likely it'll be something aggressive or hi-tech sounding.
How about Playstation HD: Now With Real 1080p. I think PHDNWR 1080p has a nice ring to it.
Just imagine how much better all the current console games will be with just an extra stick of 512 RAM. In today's market that will hardly break $20.
So how are we supposed to game with that giant ass controller weighting down our wrists? Is Nintendo out of their god damn minds? Just picture playing hours and hours of Skyrim or BF 3 on that monstrosity...not very appealing to say the least.
Anything that reference to the limits or potential of the hardware is pure marketing garbage. The limits of the PS3 and the 360 has been reached long ago, whatever graphical progress here on out are just tweaks to the engine or else we'll be playing Killzone 3 in native 1080p with 64 players matches because the PS3 is so "limitless".
This goes for PC gaming too. Crytek made a huge deal out of Crysis 2 for the PC, nextgen this, new benchmark that...we all know ho...
This game is bound to be a bug ridden mess. Just like all the their games.
