There were times I felt that the side quests became a bit repetitive, but the combat was fun enough to offset it and I really enjoyed the variety in the environments (other than the deserts, which I didn't think needed three different areas). It wasn't perfect, but it was still a really good game--good enough that I wouldn't go out of my way to gripe about there being too much content.
Goddamn it this game is going to be awesome.
Nope! Definitely not worth it for me. The only way I could see it being even a decent deal is if you completely missed last gen and want to play catch up on your PS4.
Hell yes I'd buy it again.
Anyway, if you'd been paying attention you know this is more than an FPS and resolution upgrade. Also, if you'd actually played the game you would immediately recognize in this video that they also made some significant changes to enemy numbers and placement, which is a big deal in Souls. The game is going to play very differently than the previous version.
Man, getting this and Bloodborne so close to one another is pretty much a dream come true. I'll be good until the holiday just between these two games. It's just a shame we couldn't get a Dark Souls collection with both games.
Hopefully this game doesn't have the same drop off in quality we saw between Guardian of Light and Temple of Osiris. I love these types of games, so I really want this one to be good.
86ers are off the hook. How many critics and gamers have to spell out all the game's flaws before they realize there isn't some grand conspiracy against the game? The problems are real. It's disconcerting to me, because I don't want to see gaming dragged down by people willing to label a poorly designed game as a great experience.
To be clear, I've never suggested that people can't like the game. I've liked my own share of mediocre games. But at le...
And to be fair, we still have no idea what effect it had since Naught Dog hasn't released a new games since the departures. News like this might not necessarily be bad, but it sure isn't good.
My comment wasn't meant to insult you. Not sure why you guys are taking it personally.
What do you value more: quality gameplay and level design, or visual fidelity and production values? If it's the former, I'd keep your expectations low, since The Order has very little to offer in terms of an engaging and well designed gameplay experience. But if you like sleek production and gorgeous scenery and character models, you'll find a lot to appreciate.
In terms of story, I think it's a wash. The premise is cool and the voice acting is good, but the ...
Yeah, horror games in particular would be great to replay with amnesia. I've gone back and replayed RE, SH, and DS games a ton, but it's never quite the same when you know what's around every corner.
Definitely a bummer. When I was in college some friends of mine rented EA's rugby game on the PS2 and it ended up being a game we were hooked on for weeks. Fond memories of playing that game. I've always wanted to see a good new Rugby game, but I guess this isn't it.
Man, there are a lot of games I wish I could experience with fresh eyes. But for me, the major ones would be:
Bioshock
Metroid Prime
Dark Souls
Those games are pretty much my idea of gaming perfection. Luckily, Bloodborne is just around the corner, and I'm going to appreciate the hell out of getting to play it for the first time.
Honestly, that's pretty much what I was thinking when I pre-ordered it, but the game was still a big let down for me. It just didn't do anything for me, but still, it's not like I only bought it because it was an exclusive.
Persona 5 is a pretty big deal, and I'm willing to bet there are games we don't know about yet. I might give the Xbone the edge for exclusives right now for quantity, but the upcoming PS4 exclusives (Bloodborne, UC4, and P5) also happen to be my three most anticipated games, so I can't complain about either console right now.
Nothing made me buy The Order, and in particular, it isn't like I go out of my way to buy exclusives for some arbitrary reason. I'm more willing to pre-order games that look interesting to me thanks to Best Buy's great GCU promo, so I took a chance on The Order. Definitely wasn't the game for me, but I was able to trade it in at no loss.
Seriously, who the hell buys a game simply because it's an exclusive? Are there people out there that do that? Brand loy...
I feel like it's been years since there's been a JRPG I've really like, but I keep trying them out. I'm hoping this will scratch that JRPG itch, at least until Persona 5 comes out.
My dream would be a new Dragon Quest on consoles that follows in the footsteps of DQVIII. Hell, even a DQVIII remaster would be amazing.
I want these guys to finish this game so they can hopefully move on to a new Dead Space.
You have proven your point via the professionalism you've displayed in this comment thread.
I liked the game, but a lot of the quests did feel like padding. I wish more games took the Dark Souls approach to level design. I don't necessarily need my open worlds to be sprawling--I prefer an interconnected world with smaller individual environments that are packed densely with content, as opposed to huge, mostly empty environments with lots of fetch-quests.
