The Wii U is definitely the place to play for gamers who love the Nintendo brand. Can't argue with that.

Yeah, I'd be surprised to see any new major announcements, particularly a new IP, for the Wii U. I'm thinking the new Zelda might even end up being a Twilight Princess situation where it will be a launch title for the new console, with the Wii U version becoming an afterthought.

The Order was a dismal mess of a game that probably doesn't even deserve whatever sales it got, but I'm disappointed that Sunset Overdrive didn't do well. The tone of the game is admittedly obnoxious and grating, but it was also a lot of fun to play.

I'm curious what this has to do with anything "going forward". Not trying to be cynical, but there's just as good a chance that their next new IP won't do well. Splatoon has been well received and Wii U owners were clearly starving for something new. That doesn't mean every new Nintendo game will be a hit. I just don't see the correlation.

We'll probably seen an announcement for Spla2oon sometime next year...

I wonder if console gaming even has a future in Japan.

At this rate the Wii U will become a success in Japan just in time for Nintendo to abandon the console.

Why spend resources remastering a game when you can just have MS add it to the BC list and sell it for $10-20 on the Xbone. They can make money by literally doing nothing. I'm guessing most publishers would be fine with that.

I doubt that enough people bought the Games on Demand versions on the 360 for them to lose a ton of sales because people already own the games digitally.

No. You have to pay a subscription AND you have to double dip for games you already own AND it has to require a constant high-speed internet connection just to work in order for it to be a good thing. At least, that's what a lot of people here seem to genuinely believe.

Been seeing lots of articles lately on N4G where ostensibly stupid and/or paid-off bloggers try to "explain" things that they either don't understand or are too emotionally invested in their own favorite corporate brand to discuss rationally. It's getting pretty boring.

I'm surprised you're asking! The answer to this question is pretty simple. I like gaming the way it is. I'd be disappointed if some of my favorite developers and franchises were released as VR-only games. I could definitely see that happening down the road.

Whatever happens, happens. I'm not going to sulk about it. I just don't want to see VR account for a huge chunk of development resources. For me, it's better spent on traditional gaming experiences....

Man, I kind of hope he is right since I have zero interest in it, but it does seem to be picking up steam. This isn't just some gimmick like 3D and I could see it having a huge impact on gaming, even if I won't be along for the ride.

I don't think you know what the word "late" means.

I enjoyed the first two Shenmue games, but I'd consider myself to be an incredible moron if I didn't keep my expectations in line for the third installment. There are way more reasons to be skeptical than enthusiastic at this point. I just hope to be pleasantly surprised.

Also, I'm surprised we aren't seeing a remaster announced for the first two. Shenmue's fanbase is more loyal than it is large, so you'd think they'd want to release the older game...

Nintendo is done.

Who knows what I meant when I posted this. I was pretty into my cups last night and must have posted it before I went to bed. I'm not even sure if I was being serious, but either way, I'm glad I passed out before doing much more damage.

Meagre? What's a meagre?

I thought Sony had a good E3 but these are two games I couldn't care loss about. Shenmue 3 in particular is a game that I think people really need to lower their expectations for.

This was a pretty good game. In fact, the only thing I didn't like about it was the Gamepad features. For an atmospheric game, nothing ruins the mood like having to constantly pull your attention away from the action on the screen. At a discounted price I might pick it up again.

I'm sure it will be nice, but I'm hooked on the open world that Horizon offers. I'll wait for the next installment of Horizon and pass on Forza 6.
