I hope next gen completely abolishes the achievement/trophy system. Terrible gimmick that fucks up just playing the game normally whilst leaving a half complete score being permanently attached to your profile.
I hope your wrong. Having both since launch these things are starting to feel very old. The games themselves hit their peak visually in 2010 with Uncharted & God of War and we've had to deal with framerate inconsistencies which are still prevalent. As much as folks hate on COD, 60fps makes a huge difference and should be the standard in as many games as possible nowadays.
Also, I don't think Nintendo really has what it takes to get the hardcore Sony & MS guy...
Black Ops had is problems, but ultimately it smokes this poor excuse for a successor easily. Doesn't matter though as it's probably all downhill from here.
Even though I was looking forward to this game, you are correct unfortunately. Definitely feels like a downgrade.
That corner has put me in a death streak on more than one occasion.
The only thing that could be said about the list of games coming next year, are that the multiplat blockbusters will more than likely perform better on the 360 as is usually the case.
If that matters to you and those are the games your looking forward to, then exclusives aren't exactly a big difference maker. This is Microsoft's strategy no doubt. Halo will sell well enough and be a great game to boot (hopefully).
The maps on the disc are the worst in the series... there is no way I could justify purchasing the new ones without a timed demo of some kind.

Makes no sense to have carryover killstreak rewards in an everyone for him/herself game.
MW3 should only be above MW2... Spec Ops is definitely good but the multiplayer is terrible.
Horrendous maps, terrible spawning, ridiculous lag making you go 30/5 in one game, then 5/30 the next. These lag problems for me appeared to start with Black Ops and it looks like there's no turning back now unfortunately.
Whats a guy to do though, go play Battlefield 3? No Thanks.

COD is a juggernaut and will continue to sell like one. At least for the time being. This lame excuse for a sequel to MW2 was destined to sell well regardless.
Remember, Black Ops far outsold MW2.
MW3 really is just awful... been playin' alot of it cause I like me the COD gameplay and its where the big community is, but its easily the worst in the series.
Already did it with Black Ops.
Only COD 4 stands above it and those days are long gone with only a handful of that dev team left.

Has it at least been playable since the last couple of patches? I played the PS3 version for about 8 hrs and tossed it.
No hit marker sound, no footsteps/movement sound, rubberbanding all over the place, sitting in matchmaking for minutes at a time ... need I go on?
The difference is night & day on the 360. The game still has possibly the worst spawn system in the history of MP however and that plagues all versions.

Please give reasons as to what MW3 does better than Black Ops, other than having slightly better hit detection.
Camping is as bad as ever due to the absolutely terrible corridor map design and spawn system.
Only two things really need to be done Treyarch.
1. Better hit detection
2. Every gun needs to have its own distinct feel as well as use. All of the guns felt somewhat similar in Black Ops.
Other than that I think Black Ops pretty much destroys anything else MW3 has to offer. Better maps, better spawning, better presentation, better sound etc....
