Don't forget, an "insider" only becomes an insider because these game web-zines are suckered by them and promote them to become known as an "insider". If it was just some guy rambling on neogaf, nobody would pay attention. It's because there are "game journalists" (another term needing quotes) reading neogaf and deciding, wow, this guy really knows about things. This stuff gets old. There was a period of time, there were all these bozos claiming to be &qu...
What is going on here? Naughty Dog has *ALWAYS* shown their demos using the game engine. It is ND that pioneered using the game engine for cinematic cut scenes (scripted) then seamlessly transitioning into the game action. How could people not know this if they have played any ND title? The gameplay transitions into a high detail cutscene then scales back to the gameplay, sometimes taking a second to realize the cutscene was over and you are back in the game. Cripes, this has been a character...
All of ND's cinematics are done with the in-game engine. Seems like people are forgetting ND pioneered the seamless transition from scripted cutscene into gameplay.
What House said was GTA5 saves from 360 can be imported to PS4 GTA5. Considering we all know the best platform will be the PS4, this could a big increase of PS4 sales from the upgrade/switch market. It was a megaton that wasn't noticed by many
The Order was very impressive, especially with the reveal of the Lycans. Destiny is going to sell a ton on the PS4. The open beta of Now is next month. Yeah, they spent a bit too much time on the TV box, while it looks like Morpheus is not launching this year. The PS4 is still going to get the best versions of all the multi-plats, most being 1080p and 30/60fps. Gamescom is next.
Wow, the supposed megaton was reviving Crackdown. Underwhelm.
He is ending with the future of the XBO, when they didn't show much of anything going into 2015. Not a horrible press conference, not totally boring but no real flavor either, kind of like a bowl of oatmeal with no milk, sugar or any other flavoring.
Kind of sleazy, to have a label "First content shown exclusive on Xbox". So what, now there has to be a claim to first, exclusive trailers? What a development for video games. Of course, when you don't have any big exclusives, you do have to play up the multiplats. This press conference is like a script that was released two months ago, no deviation, just follow the titles list as previously described.
What is with the stupid game commentary in between the stage presentations? Also, nothing so far really seems next gen. In fact, Fable and Sparks look like games from the last gen. Multi-plats, better version on PS4. Exclusives, so far, the zany is played up too much, just looks like Sonic the Hedgehog type of gameplay. The applause is very strained.
There is a thanksgiving day in Japan except it is called Labor Thanksgiving, the government closes, and the tradition is to give cards of thanks to postal delivery, street workers, etc. thanking them for their labor. It isn't a big feast holiday and it isn't associated with a big shopping day. Microsoft seems to be more and more out of touch with everything, not just video gaming. They had no choice but go through the motions of a Japan launch, just taking another odd turn getting the...
A PS4 Slim would mean Sony could save on manufacturing costs, while still having a price reduction. Sony usually goes with $50 price cuts and around or right after E3. You have to remember, they will probably announce Morpheus release date and price, so a price cut on the main hardware is an incentive to add a Morpheus. A fifty buck price reduction from the launch unit price is not really that big of a deal if it brings in millions more PS4 playas.
Sounds like people were showing the XBO version and it doesn't have dynamic vehicle deformation and also has fewer NPC. Now, the PS4 version is out and the PS4 screens are showing much more physics, dynamics, character and particle effects, about 50% more, coincidentally.
lol, site is nerdburglars
xbox fanbois still delusional after a year of pounding, have to give it to them, they have thick heads, even believing obsolete production hardware will magically advance into the future with the cloud...until off line
This confirms the PS4 at launch was at break-even price right at launch. This should put the loss-leader hardware old wives tale to bed. That means the cost to manufacture have been going down since launch, so there is net profit for each PS4 hardware sold. These new SKU's are definitely going to bring down manufacturing cost more, so that Sony will announce a price cut during or not long after E3. They let the existing SKU production halt, then start up the new SKU's. Also, Sony is n...
When Private Nelson gets more attention for his private parts than huge megalith Microsoft, along with what has happened in the past few weeks, then it all points to the triad of stinkers for MS: the 2013 reveal, E3 2013 and now E3 2014. We won't even count their awkward Gamescom2013 and TGS2013. This E3 may see cringe-inducing awkward taken to new lows.
Private Nelson is going to be on stage wearing a chicken costume and nobody will think it's funny, just stupid and boring.
Private Nelson is actually known for being one of the early leads for Live with the original xbox. He gradually became known for being somewhat of a gamer (unusual at MS) and the xbox fanbois blew that up into OMG!MS#GAMER! So, Private Nelson became a PR man instead.
Seems like a court martial for Private Nelson is next after being demoted from Major to Private.
I'll buy that for a dollar!
Crytek has always shown how scalable their graphics are. Who can forget what it was like trying to run the original PC Crysis? This might be Crysis plugging Ryse but it seems more at the urging of Microsoft. MS is trying to play up all of these "things that could be" because they know they are going to have to face stage comparisons of multi-platforms at E3, with none of this stupid "gaming PC is representative of XBO" BS. The performance of these games are going to be mor...
The problem is the current video gaming culture doesn't have anybody independent and impartial to catalog these rumors and follow up after they are confirmed or debunked, then identify the ones that are most common to be wrong. This does happen in a roundabout way, Kraptaku was spewing all kinds of "insider" supposed information about the PS4 before it was officially announced and it was all piss water trying to claim it was beer. They don't use their "insiders" so...
This article was needed to bring a dose of reality to those xbox fanboi game webzine sites yesterday, chortling that MS had won E3!
MS improved from last year but they didn't win anything. The first hour was non-stop multi-plat games that are going to be on the PS4, will be better on the PS4 and most of the trailers were obviously CGI rendered, not gameplay and most, not even in-game engine. MS didn't even introduce a new IP beyond Sunset Overdrive, almost all the ex...
