Clearly Nintendo doesn't appreciate these fan remakes. Knowing that, it makes absolutely no sense to spend time/effort on something like this. Make your own game if are that good, or pitch the idea to Nintendo. If they say yes, then go for it, if they say no, then work on something else, FFS. I hope Nintendo/Game Freak takes action immediately.

Please keep these kinds of stories from N4G. We can't have people realizing the console wars are complete B.S.

still now Switch rewards. Here's to hoping my points don't expire before then.

Well said. With a 240p screen, look at how well the 3ds sold, when compared to better screens on Vita and most phones. Good enough is highly subjective, and sales will have to be the determining factor in the long run. Diminishing returns is a real issue in the gaming space right now, bloating budgets, and providing a barrier to entry for smaller devs/publishers that the Switch is embracing right now. It certainly is good enough for me.

Depends on what you call a generation.
Technically, the switch is in a generation by themselves. Unless you count the pro and x as new gens.

The problem is how do you quantify your assumptions. Maybe they weren't going to buy it because they indoctinated themselves to steal everything, therefore not buy. classic chicken and egg scenario. what came first, the game stealer or the lack of desire to buy the game? For someone used to stealing games, why would they buy a game?

There is no way to determine lost sales due to piracy. What were they expecting to find out? Same thing happens with let's plays on youtube. there isn't a reliable method of determining if the person watching ever intended to buy the game in the first place, but settled on watching the game. It's simply not quantifiable.

I'll pick this up on Switch for sure. I was hoping for a few Rockstar Classics earlier in the Wii Us life,, but this even better. I played and enjoyed on PC, but I admit I never paid for it, so this will satisfy my guilt.

Didn't you know that Mario is a genre? At least that is what some will try to push.

Not even the same, and outputting to TV isn't the point. The point is that the quality of handheld and docked is equivalent. It's the same game, not a handheld that is a couple of gens in power behind the home console version. We have been chasing this with handhelds for decades, and just now are we realizing the dream. We were close with the Vita, I think in only a gen back in power, but the Switch is the same.

Those of us that are older, remember what caused...

until the numbers of the Switch in the wild are sufficient to sustain Nintendo from a solftware standpoint, then there will continue to be a division. Going all in with the Switch would yield short and medium term losses since the supply and install base isn't there yet. Limping in with the Switch could hurt sales of the Switch, which is partly what we saw with the Wii U. It's a difficult balance, for sure. As we've already been seeing, We will gradually, see more games coming ...

When the point of posting an article to N4G is to have someone actually click the article and read it, you aren't helping anyone but N4G. I, and likely the poster of this article do not thank you.

Badz Do you know for a fact that content was cut to have paid DLC? Even if it was, there is nothing wrong with that, as long as the game doesn't feel incomplete. How much would you pay for the full experience including free DLC? $60? That's your problem. People want huge expansive and expensive games, yet never want to pay more than $60 for it. Why do you think games have been $60 for as long as they have? Because game developers can reuse assets and create new content for a fra...

They can and likely will. I hope they build on this one with another full game, similar to what they did with Majora's mask using the same engine. I hope the climb everything aspect is here to stay, because that has change open world games forever, at least for me. It has been said similar with other games, like Smash 4, Mario Kart 8, in that where can they go from here besides graphical and performance improvements. Should they make new games, or just continue making quality DLC and ...

DLC is supposed to extend the life of a game. If it does that at a fair price, then it is done well. I don't like day 1 DLC, however, if it helps to keep the cost down of the main game and doesn't affect the story in any way, than I'm for that.

3121d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

I personally, like my games being $60 at most. I don't want to pay $70 or $80 for new games. As long as budgets continue to rise, which is another problem, dlc is what is keeping the costs manageable to the consumer.

Agreed. make the game harder by increasing the damage of weapons(both yours and the enemies), increasing the number of enemies, or make ammo rarer, not enemy HP. No human enemy should be able to withstand a headshot, Make the game more realistic will increase the difficulty.

Mario Kart 6 was Mario Kart Wii. compare that to Mario Kart 8 and you see a big difference.

If a third party releases a game on the Switch, I'll give it a shot, and even wait, if I know it's coming. Being able to play off TV is that strong of a feature for me. Same with Wii U, i waited on Arkham City and Deus Ex, AC3 and 4, and was not dissapointed in the slightest.

3127d ago 9 agree1 disagreeView comment

exactly. Third party devs jumped ship way early en masse for the Wii U. Everything released on every console but Wii U until it became the unfortunate norm. Why risk that again by jumping in with both feet. These same haters claiming the Switch was dead on arrival are now just shifting to this bogus argument about artificial supply shortage as a means to continue to hate bandwagon, since the Switch is doing well. Same moving goalposts as always.

3128d ago 1 agree0 disagreeView comment

And you just assume that Nintendo is faking shortage issues...how? This is a myth, plain and simple, until proven otherwise. Even if true, what difference does it make. It's just an excuse to downplay the success of the Switch, that's all it is.
