I think if you were born in the 90s and aren't old enough to remember playing Doom or Heretic off a floppy in typing class when nobody was looking, then HALO is probably a big deal.
For a lot of the rest of us, Goldeneye is still the superior game.
1887 still powerful, but practically superfluous with no more crazy 50 yard kill range. M1014 is just as good to wield in tight maps. AK47 still almost as useless as a butter knife.
Host migration is still caca. Still get host connection errors when the other team backs out after my second AC-130.
What's the point? Badge or not, if you haven't put in the time, you'll still get steamrolled.
I ran through to Prestige playing pretty much how I did in COD4. But I found Demolition/Sabotage games to be A LOT more fun with a Tac Shield and a stun grenade. If you juggle your killstreak perks to the lower tiers, you really can dominate in some places.
Stat whores can camp all they want, but now that everybody has pretty much run through most of the rankings, and all the hiding places are known, its harder and harder for the lobby braggers to make good on their nuke prom...

What about being dumped into a half over game of Domination where there are 2 Harrier's and an Attack Helicopter tearing my new team to pieces?
What about the poor ping filter and laggy play?

If memory serves, at the time the Spec Ops were allowed to grow beards out to avoid standing out more than they already did. I believe that photo was after they saved the Afghan president from an assasination attempt. The picture floated around the media and a somebody at the Pentagon wasn't happy seeing them look like hippies.

Lag ain't gone. There needs to be a better ping filter. Host migration doesn't always kick in and it doesn't always work. I've seen a few "lost connection" errors in the last day and a half and it aint my connection.
At least there is a CHANCE somebody getting pwned won't ruin the game for everybody like in COD4.
Dedicated servers would have at least been a nice option, even on consoles. What are they afraid of? Private games are a half assed solution.
IW makes great MP games. COD SP is garbage and has been after 2. Terrible squad AI and not much "tactics" other than run to the checkpoint. Die Die Die. Run to the checkpoint. Die Die Die.
The MW2 MP could have been released as DLC. Its fun and runs smooth but is it $60 and two years better?

9.5? no way. Bozon gave the game 10 for graphics because he's been reviewing Wii games for 3 years. I give it an 8.0 at the most.
Just put in 3 hours on the MP over PSN. I don't even bother with the SP, I know its garbage, the last one was. Checkpoint running is oh so 1996.

The graphics are not even worth crying over. This game will lose a pixel pissing match with a lot of other games that are at least a year old.
The game doesn't run in HD. The textures are still crap and the campaign AI is guaranteed to be garbage.
Its worth it for MP, who cares about the rest.
The texturing still looks weak on both of them. Oh well nobody counts the pixels in Pac Man.

Unless you max out the resolution and settings on a PC, and even then, COD4 never really had much to show off in texture category. Just look at all the crappy wall and grass textures on the 360/PS3.
The biggest offender on the other consoles was slowdown with smoke grenades in MP. Curious at least how the WIi handles the online stuff, but overall, I'm surprised its not just stick figures.
Small map. Looks like it runs smooth, but yeah it does smack of the "if it ain't broke...." philosophy. Which is good. But a little disappointed there wasn't, you know, something new.....

I have put in more than 30 Days logged on COD4 on PSN and near half that for PC. COD 4 is NOTORIOUS for lag on consoles, XBL or PSN. I have played them all.

L4D looks and plays like a 5 year old game. Randy is right, Valve is printing money on Steam and Source, consoles are not their business model.
The PS3 may take more effort for them to port to, but it doesn't explain why the Windows version I have of L4D is populated by graphic glitches, especially in the cinemas. I guess they've yet to master the PC either...

Every time somebody gets owned by whatever weapon, they demand a patch from IW.
Shotguns are overpowered. Thermal scope is unfair. M16 has no recoil. Tactical knife is for noobs.
Adjust, adapt. Check your corners and learn to aim.
