eSRAM is just a word people use here. A lot of common CPU implementations use eDRAM, eSRAM. It comes down to how they are implemented to make the back end work that big a deal. I bet it comes down more to poor dev tools and a late hardware lock. Why have all the XBO demos been so dependent on PC hardware until very recently? This is a mad, mad rush at Microsoft. The company as a whole got away with shipping unfinished crap for 20 years and now it's time to pay the piper.

You'd have to dig up something online with one of the Cell wizards like Vassily Filippov, but I think the parallel processing of the Cell was such a struggle because it depended largely on assembly-language. I don't know anybody who would prefer CPU assembly-language over shader programming on a GPU for a video game.
So Darth Vader address the storm troopers. Someday some wily rebels will blow up the Deathstar and life will go on as normal.
Epic Fail. If there were any real journalists in this "video game journalism" we'd have a better idea on what is going on instead of relying on a couple Twitter posts.
This would be good if there was any games to bother with. I just use Bootcamp and a VIsta partition for my gaming.
Where is my copy of Left4Dead on iPhone 3GS?
So much for their "proprietary engine."
This is what you get for a half ass scotch tape job of your assets to old id Quake engine tech.
Apple dominates this market now. Why are all these people going to dump their handset and just go Microsoft?
Does it run any of my Apps?
Does it sync to my Macbook?
Does it play my iTunes music Library?
Apple: iPod
MS: ME TOO -- ZUNE!
Apple: I'm a Mac TV spots
MS: ME TOO -- I'm a PC TV spots
Apple: iPhone
MS: ME TOO -- ZUNE Mobile 7
ME TOO never wins.
Bobby Kotick wants another 40 Ferraris. He threw a fit when he found dirt on the tires for the last 40.
When selling 12 million copies of MW2 isn't enough.....
Why is CoD4 still $50?
Why isn't Guitar Hero priced at $20 where it belongs?
Why did they raise the price on PC MW2?
Greed
Greed
Greed
Glitches or not, HALO will certainly need to "reach" after MW2. 12 million copies? It will be awhile before something besides Mario rivals.
Anyhoo, I stopped playing and just went back to CoD4 on weekends. Much quicker to get a decent lobby. No nuke boosters!
Missing the speed of MW2 and the insanity of MAG, but it is still great to just blow the crap out of a sniper nest.
But GT was right. Hit detection is total caca!
Well the article gets it right in the end. MAG is good because it promotes team-based play. That's why I like it and the same reason Battlefield 1943 is fun with only a few maps.
If a game is exactly like Modern Warfare 2, then it gets knocked for being exactly like Modern Warfare 2. If it isn't Modern Warfare 2, then it gets knocked for not being Modern Warfare 2.
CoD is an arcade game full of buzzs, bells and bonus points that really add up to nothing. CoD is d...
I can't believe people are making guides for this stuff. Unless its TDM of FFA, Nukes promote camping.
I got my first nuke with an M16. My harrier and chopper gunner got shot down, so I had to finish it by hand with a dead guy's SCAR when I ran out of ammo. Basically if you know how to aim, you play unpredictable and log enough hours, sooner or later you'll get one.
But here is the real point. Why do people want a nuke? For what the stupid icon? Who cares?
In this corner, KZ2 MP:
Good: Great design, great maps, team dependent play. Listen to your music! Practice is rewarded.
Bad: Sluggish at times. No true party support.
Ace in the hole: Warzone and dedicated servers.
and in this corner, MW2 MP:
Good: Fast, smooth frame rate. Responsive controls, endless leveling system. Party support. Many weapons
Bad: Ancient Quake 3 era gameplay. No music support on PS3. Lag. Very little...
I have Gears on PC and despite the chainsaw, I never really did understand why people think its that great. Fun, but it gets very repetitive very quickly.
How stupid is IW when they nerf'd the 1880 they forgot to test it with FMJ?
Are the subcontracting the coding to a Cambodian programming sweatshop so Bobby Kotick can buy more dye for his hair?
If the MP map packs are camp fests like Karachi or as spawn kill friendly as High Rise, no way I'll pay up.
Infinity Ward loves campers. The game is designed around hiding spots.
I wouldn't nerf the tac knife commando, lightweight package. It is a good loadout to swap to when there is a house full of campers. You can run in there and clean house.
What I don't like is when there are two Harriers and a Chopper Gunner or Pave Low out at once. By that point, the nuke isn't far behind.
I'm glad they didn't have Batman on there. It had its share of flaws too but was worth the coin.
Damn. I think the only thing I see is the maps look a bit empty, but still looks awesome.
By the end of the month they'll be dragging him away to the white, padded room, all the while screaming "You don't need water to make ice! We're Microsoft dammit. MICROSOFT! We make stuff that doesn't work as advertised! That's what we do! Gears of Duty FTW!"
