The Google Cloud does not boost frame rates to your email.

Apple's iCloud does not increase fill rate on OpenGL games.

Amazon's Cloud Drive, does not drive you to the supermarket faster.

What he's saying is:

Dedicated server infrastructure is less computationally taxing on a client with limited resources than using a Peer2Peer system.

New? Nope. Cloud is one of those "nebulous" marketing terms now used for anything server side. I remember when blog used to be called a weblog in 1992. Then it became a thing.

Forza 5 = Overpriced Demo

Double performance? Misleading. SOME operations will double with efficiency but it's not like Forza will be running at 4k next week all the sudden. The real performance gains but happen when you remove an abstraction layer and allow lower level coding. Something the PS4 has from get-go. Ask Corrinne Yu.

Imagine. People laughed that you had to code to the SPUs to get performance gains on PS3. All the sudden it's a good thing when DX12 opens up more to-the-metal c...

He's not wrong, but it's not games. It's the entire society. Political party vs. Political party. Android vs. iOS. Ford vs. Chevy. The whole idea of pitting people against each other used to be a tribal aspect of survival. Now companies and organizations use this little tendency embedded into humans to make money.

It's two things.

1. They now know Titanfall 2 won't be exclusive. Trying to get that install base up so Titanfall attachment sticks to XBO.

2. Pure and simple ----> desperation. My guess is they don't have anything else up their sleeve until HALO arrives and we all know what that will be like because everybody and their brother, their mother and their brother's mother has a copy of HALO 3 and HALO 4.

A price war this ea...

Tiny wings is way better from end to end. I never understood why this thing ever got a download at all.

However this finally plays out, a good argument for a headset of some kind, is it obviates having a giant TV set you can't take with you. I think just like the rise of phones and tablets that are small compared to big PCs, a small and comfy headset could offer a superior entertainment experience with movies and games that doesn't require the massive wall space or power constraints.

I think everybody wants this grail, but nobody has figured it out yet.

Its tradition in Infamous. Greg Miller on IGN loved the first one and a ton of other reviewers hammered it. Edge, as is their style, totally dumped on Infamous 2.

For myself, two Platinums in the last two games tell me I will enjoy this.

Two points off because they didn't send him a free copy six months early and a free plane ticket to fly to Seattle to review it early and a free beanie with the words "Adam Sessler is the shit" embroidered on it in gold.

Likely scenario folks

I have Titanfall on PC.

It's not worth $60. After two days, there's not much left to do and a crap excuse for a "story" mode that it got a free pass for. Infamous games give at least two play throughs to see most of the story.

Wildly divergent reviews on this one. I can say the same thing happened with the last two games. The FPS has always been given too many excuses for the last ten years of "sure it's the same old thing but the gameplay is fun" Infamous has always been knocked for really petty stuff in the story by the same people who thing shooting gallery arcade games are the only things worth playing.

After getting Platinums on last two games and all the trophies in FoB, I ca...

Robots? Hardly noticeable! Looks just like a shooter to me!

Not necessarily, if you have a wired XB360 controller, it automatically will show the button prompts instead of keyboard keys. The game isn't really twitch. I didn't notice any advantage to playing with a keyboard.

Beta frame-rate dipped all over the place on my 8core "Titan" GPU PC. It's what happens when you take a first release game from a "new" studio that's was originally made to run on an old PowerPC box and later PC and an XBO.

Arthur Gies can't count to 10, but it was a nice gesture for him to try.

I think there was some old mumbling about Respawn having trouble with early XBO dev tools and drivers then more recently they were "experimenting" with how to use the ESRAM. Which is why all the early demos ran only on PC hardware.

Zampella said long ago, they chose the Source engine because it ran so well on PS3 and they were aiming for PS360 as the main sellers. Inevitably, they'll improve it, but how much headroom the XBO actually has is anybody's guess...

2560x1600 on PC running on my "Titan" no less, pretty pixelated.

60 FPS? yeah, but so was Quake 2. Like 20 years ago.

Played the Beta for a week on PC. Never for more than two matches at a time. I was always wondering "is this it?" There's just not much here. I think it will be fun for people starved for something a little different - there are robots, but they blow up really easily.

EA online service, $30+ for inevitable DLC, Zampella basically confirmed sequel already planned for multi-platform and for what? $60 entry?

Titanfall is a really well marke...
