There are loads of bugs but I am yet too see a technical issue on PC
I did not know that what other people do with the hardware they bought effects you. Sure hacking PSN or some service that effects others sucks but modding your own hardware. I just see that as a buyers right. Piracy on the other hand is also bad.
As long as it is nothing like DA 2 and goes back to origins then I will buy this. DA:O is very good, biowares best game this gen in my opinion
I would love this.
hmm I have a simmilar card MSI 660Ti PE (the 660, 670 and 680 share the same GPU) and do not have that issue.
I predict a riot
Witcher 2
XCOM Enemy Unknown
Skyrim
Bad Company 2
Ok I guess you people believe TLOU will look as good as Crysis 3 on my PC :S
I do not own any consoles but good try.
Crysis 3, there is no competition. 1080p + makes such a huge difference.
I must have a different understanding of the word innovation
Pros
- Free to manufacture
- The above opens up the industry to small independent developers which leads to more games.
- Unlimited shelf space means you can stock games forever which leads to a longer sales cycle for the game (profit)
- Good for the environment.
- Developers can work up until launch and then pass the updated build to the distributors.
- No damaged discs.
- No used game sales (Publishers are pushing for this alread...
We both know that is a load of crap, retail stores only stock new games. GOG.com has games from the 90s. Where can I find that at retail? Blu ray discs don't get damaged. Since when did scratch resistance make things invulnerable. No competition in prices eh? then what is www.cheapshark.com, what psn and xbox live offer maybe crap. But PC has got it all working fine. Digital has unlimited stock space. Steam has over 1500 games stocked. How many does gamestop stock? 100?
Good point, but most games on steam are priced well and there are a lot of sales. It just seems like consoles need a good service. Most new releases on steam (dishonored and xcom for example) release at £30. Take a look at what competition does for digital sales here: www.cheapshark.com
@mopaful99 All I am getting from what you are saying is old hardware cant run bleeding edge graphics which is the same for console. If you bought a decent PC a year ago it should not be hiccuping at all. A 6850 (mid range card from 2 - 3 years ago can still play most games maxed at 1080p) I really don't see the problem. It is not like your console patches make the game run at 1080p 8x AA like how I play my PC games.
According to steam. I have played xcom for 34hrs and dishonored for 8. I think that says it all really.
PC has chosen digital, I give it 2 gens till consoles follow suit. Here is a little pros vs cons.

You get what you pay for thats the point. You can get a cheap PC which still plays games better than consoles (720p 30fps+) or you can go and get a £600 pc and play all games maxed out. It is up to you. PC is pretty plug and play now with windows 7 downloading all of your drivers, steam updating all your games in the background.
XCOM is selling better than dishonored on steam so I don't think it has a real problem. It is very popular on PC
I myself am a programmer and have made a few demo projects like an A* pathfinding system, a small multiplayer fps and more but my main problem is sticking to a project long enough to polish it into a decent product. Glad to see more people in this community who also develop games, would be interesting to talk to you.
