I just picked up kotor 2 in the steam sale. Kotor 1 is my favorite game of all time. Wish they had just made a third. Without making you become a jedi.
Take a look at steam, look at all the exclusives... Yup that is more than all 3 consoles combined. That is 10 years of games with backwards compatibility.
The only stats we have which is kind of representative of PC Gaming is steams revenue which has doubled every year for the past 7 years. Compare that to Sony and it looks like PC Gaming has a big and growing market.
I disagree with using the word unoptimized in this case as you generally optimize for a target audience and that is what they did. Really high end computers. I'm not sure what you are getting at with your talk on optimization techniques when we do not have access to there source code and can not tell what they have or have not done.

You can change your data types, reduce iteration and assignment as much as possible but you cannot magically make your code run on weak hardware without going further than optimization to the point of hacking at it with an axe.
@King the GTX690 is not a GPU it is a graphics card containing two GTX 680 GPUS. That's like me saying that 2 PS3s are more powerful than one.
I am pretty sure epic has the latest specs for both consoles.

Agreed, I skipped MW3 because it was garbage and I did not see any meaningful changes from MW2. Black Ops 2 has a good singleplayer, I am not too sure about zombies as I have not played much of it but MP got boring real fast. I much prefer the battlefield MP experience.

The Infinty ward games are boring. At least treyarch tries to add new things. MW3 was just copy / paste.

I game on PC because of the many exclusives. Natural Selection 2 is so fun.
I still played this game longer than MW3 (30mins). If this game gets so much bad press then so should COD.
8 gigs of Video ram, you are crazy. Nvidias best dual gpu has 4gb. So you want 4 gpus in the ps4. Dream on.
BTW that dual GPU costs £729 each.
I don't need to put that into perspective I am a pcgamer and have 4GHz x 8 cpu and a 1Ghz GPU and I cant do 1080p 3d @ 60fps on games like bf3.
1080p 3d 60fps with an A10 APU. LOL. Most computers need dual dedicated graphics cards to handle that.
@Monstar yes it does have Sony exclusives, it is called emulation. In fact it has more Sony exclusives than the PS3 :S
