I agree with you and understand what you are trying to say. But it seems that people are quick to jump on you purely because of your status here. I too have owned Playstation machines right from the start, and its not because I like Sony (I Hated them when Dreamcast died) but its the games that appear on Sony machines that I like.

Regardless of how "Close" Disc sales are in the States, HD-DVD disc sales in the rest of the world are nothing compared to Blu-Ray. Hollywood has to be mad to only consider whats happening in USA. Even though the recent reports by HD-DVD Consortium suggest that their selling at a high attach rate in Europe, it still doesn't negate the fact that Blu-Ray disc sales and Blu-Ray players (PS3 included) Dwarfs HD-DVD 5 to 1 Disc and even more in players capable of playing BD. In Denmark. Its all Blu-Ray here. And i've only ever seen HD-DVD Discs being sold in TP Musik Marked (Small independant chain) and just recently thats vanished and the Blu-Ray section has increased to fill the HD-DVD gap. Only adverts I see on TV are Blu-ray, latest one being Disney who are even proudly announcing "Disney Blu-Ray Disc" voice over, not just a small logo at the bottom.
But you know what, if they HAD HD-DVD players here for the price they were going for ...
If its anything like the other GOAC (Genesis on a chip) Devices made by TecToy (and other more dodgy device makers) then it shouldn't be too hard to hack the circuit and add a full blown cart port. They usually have a soldered ROM that contains all the games, if you desolder this rom and replace the lines with a cart port thats usually the ticket. I bet Ben Heck is drooling over this one! ;)
So that it doesn't sent out random wake up calls on your network.. failing that you can change your "remote play on standby" setting to off when you know you wont be using it. Then, when the PS3 goes in standby it will go into full standby and not the semi-sleep mode it does with "remote play in standby" active.

With the new theme, scrolling through my music library was slower to show names and cover art. I turned it back to the original theme as although the new one is pretty, its not as practical as the original. My wife complained too, she likes the simple look of the standard theme. Not had any lock ups as yet though.
And buy an Xbox 360... then STFU.
Interlaced images FLICKER! can you not see that? On My Samsung HDTV even 720p looks better than 1080i, its more solid. In 1080i Horizontal movement is noticably blurrier too. It really does depend on the TV as to how much of a difference there is, but your a fool to say interlaced is no different to Progressive Scan, if that where the case then why bother even making TV's Scan progressively?
With Progressive Scan you get a sharper more solid image.

So the "halo 3 effect" puts 360 up by a measly 4,000 units. Whereas the "Ace Combat 6 + price drop effect" puts it up nearly 13,000 to only JUST beat the PS3.

I've been wanting playlists in music and the ability to remotely turn on and off my PS3 with my PSP as its a pain trying to get my wife to remember to leave the PS3 on at home whilst im at work. Many a time im cut off when listening to music through my PSP and have to call her and guide her through putting PS3 back into remote play mode because she "accidentally" switched it off (Personally I think she is energy concious which is understandable).

I would take the "Fanboy" sites such as Xbox360fanboy.com a hell of a lot more seriously than xbox kings and SDF because in actual fact they are probably the most honest sites you'll find. That includes PS3 fanboy, Wii fanboy, PSP fanboy and DS fanboy. The "Fanboy" part of their collective banners is actually one of irony, its a joke.

PS3 has NATIVE hardware support for 1080p, so if the game is designed to run at 1080p the PS3 displays natively! The only time the upscaler is used is when the source is lower resolution. And AFAIK it DOESN'T upscale PS3 games, only PS1/PS2 and DVD. The main reason being that the cell is used to upscale so it takes a hit on performance.
All I know is that on my PS3, if a PS3 game says it runs in 1080p it will run at 1080p (Ridge Racer 7...
A "Tuner" for IPTV, thats the whole point, its sent via Internet Protocl so it IS software based. All you need is a system that can connect to the internet (i.e A LAN port, or even wireless although I imagine a dedicated LAN connection will be more efficient for streaming).
What "Hardware" do you think Microsoft will be adding to the Xbox 360 to make it work with IPTV? Thats right, none because its all possible with software, i.e a simple firmware update. ...
