No kidding, if part of the game is loading from the hard drive it reads a lot faster than off the disc. So yes there may be less pop up and less load times bc like I said reading of the hard drive is faster.... but no = it in 'NO WAY' changes the way 'THE GRAPHICS' look. = an HDD does not render graphics.

May I ask you once again do you think the same game on the 'core' 360 looks 'DIFFERENT' than playing "THE SAME GAME' on the elite. = No. they 'LOOK' exactly the same.

'the "blu-ray" version as you stated has the graphical edge over the "dvd" version idiot. wanna know why? its called the HDD. you dont have that, you're toast. if you want to challenge me on this, say something now.'

An HDD is used for storage and/or streaming to reduce load times. The GPU and even partly the CPU have to do with graphics rendering. So may I ask you what in the hec does a HDD have to do with graphics?

Do you think that games on...

That is why there is that liitle report button under the text box to the right. If you visitors to N4G press it enough it is like magic, trolls disappear get banned from the Gamer Zone and don't come back. The comment also disappears.

If anyone wants to clean up the Gamer Zone just report comment #1, simple as that.

I loved the Banjo games on N64, so this game should be a lot of fun. The art direction looks fantastic. Rare has some really talented artists.

Hopefully at MS gamers day some footage will be released so we can see it in motion.

Special thanks to Fablex for finding these pics bc there is very little news on Sunday.:)

my eye was as trained as yours to where I could count how many polygons there were in a game world based off of two screenshots.

Perhaps it is a bionic eye?

Those graphics look really nice. I have been waiting for a really good platformer.

And a note to everyone in this thread who wants to clean up this website. Please use the report button to report all the comments that are fanboy in nature as SPAM. They really shouldn't be in the 'Open Zone.'

The report button is underneath the text box on the right, just report as SPAM and these people will all be banned from the open zone.

what they bring up about Moore's law is spot on. How the technology moves at such a fast rate. If you compare the sytems out now with the new tech released in the PC industry it blows the consoles away. Especially with all of the quad SLI setups on GPU's and the newer processors.

If there was no competition the console manufacturer would just milk the lifespan. Releasing games that had graphics well behind the technology standard of PC's. When the consoles hit the market origin...

Always use the original headline of the source article for your N4G headline when possible. Do not create your own headlines unless the original headline doesn’t make any sense when posted on N4G.

would monitor these threads better. Is it possible to have even one Gears of War thread without bringing up Killzone 2?

NOTE: This thread isn't about Killzone 2, so the comments really don't apply. See how that works?

"But out the 2 i'd still rather play Killzone 2. Not to mention, the graphics are better on Killzone 2 (no way!) yeah it really is."

Also to cite which graphics are better is 'YOUR OPINION.' Graphics are nothing but artistic...

And that was just a sneak peek. I wonder what the other levels will look like?

The most impressive thing about it was the huge open environment. All the heavy equipment and huge beasts and a multitude of enemies with no slowdown that I saw at least.

The texture detail was also really nice even when things were up close.

I new Epic wouldn't let it's fans down. Can't wait until November.

The 360 version looks a bit more crisp.

Perhaps the PS3 version is running at a different resolution? Don't know but overall 360 version looks a bit cleaner.

It doesn't really matter. This game will be awesome either way. The damage modeling is fantastic.

Banjo was truly a great platformer on N64. I am sure Rare has put a lot of effort into making a fantastic sequel. I have to wonder what other titles Microsoft is going to unveil?

Greenburg said in his interview with Destructoid that Micro still had a lot of things from their portfolio for '08 that they haven't shown yet.

I am guessing they might have Perfect Dark 2 or Killer Instinct 3 under wraps. Rare has a lot of internal studios and I am sure they are workin...

Granted it is packed away, retro games are still a lot of fun. Food Fight is definately a great game.

A lot of people just play these games and other retro titles on emulators however.

I agree, Skies of Arcadia was one of the best RPGs ever in my opinion. I have read previously that Skies was made by the old Phantasy Star team. Although I still am waiting for Phantasy Star 5.

Grandia 2 was also fantastic. If Sega were to realease a new Skies of Arcadia I have no doubt it would be excellent.

"Chip process evolution is a usual thing in a console’s lifecycle."

All consoles go through this process. That is why late in a consoles lifecycle there is usually a smaller rendition of the connsole. A good example is the smaller PS2 that is being sold today as compared to the original PS2 model.

really good news for future Xbox 360 purchasers. I have read previously that the main cause of the hardware failures was because the GPU didn't have proper ventilation and would heat up and detach from the motherboard. That is why Micro added the extra heatsink on the falcon model.

With this decrease in the GPU size it should reduce the amount of heat generated + the extra heatsink = decrease in hardware failure. Hopefully this will put an end to the problem for good except som...

And in reference to the article it isn't really surprising because 360 attach rate is pretty high for games sales.
