This editorial is 100% on the money. It always seems like it's the smaller sites that report the shenanigans going on at Activision and whatnot. Wheres Strider or Dino Crisis? They put out Mega Man, Resident Evil, Street Fighter and the occasional Monster Hunter or random game (Dark Void, B.C.) and thats about it.

I checked out their site. the controllers are actually gorgeous looking but you'd might as well an hero yourself if you're such a noob that you'd pay up to $350 for a turbo controller.
The best is Dave Halverson and company from Play/Diehard Gamefan. Always intelligent and never a hint of fanboyism. They simply love games.

In terms of special editions this gen I've bought AvP, AC1, GTA4, Batman AA,Resident Evil 5, Resistance 2, Fallout 3 and Halo 3 Legendary (on clearance). It has to include an action figure or something for me to buy it, I'm not paying $80 for a steelbook and making of dvd.
Hmmmm.... the 1 drives/1 shoots mechanic is nothing new, a Midway TM clone did it last gen, as does Halo, so I have no idea what he could possibly mean. The only thing I could think of is 1 steers/1 controls the gas but that would be dumb.

Good point. I truly believe that alot of reviewers and gamers simply don't "get" the game that they're playing and therefore it must be "bad". Demons Souls ran into that problem and IMO so did Bionic Commando and Lost Planet 2. I look at critiques of these games and I get the feeling that they're simply either playing them wrong or don't understand what the developer was going for. I agree, I would hardly consider a $20, absolute cult, odd-ball game a flop. It had zero advertising and zero press outside of "omfg you have to see this" word of mouth and some reviews. Personally I think it's a pretty damn cool game and probably the best truly budget title I ever bought.

Yes it looks nice. But I played Borderlands and Fallout, it's going to take some serious convincing to get me to even rent this. I'm not knocking ID, but this would have much more impact if it didn't take them a decade to finish games and it had come out earlier.
