Great list, I agree 100%. Good games like this don't get sequels, yet frankly crap games like Driver, Dead to Rights and True Crime, none of which anybody was crazy about to begin with, do.
No no no. The success of the industry hinges on getting game prices down, not introducing expensive peripherals. As long as games are $60 they will never ever hit mass market penetration. Is it mere coincidence that the most successful console this gen has the least expensive games? Want to know why "s**t" like Game Party sells so well and Monster Hunter collects dust? It's because Game Party is only $20, the same price as a dvd for the kids and they get more out of it than a dv...
It took me years to realize that bad games existed, I always thought I just sucked at them.
I could have sworn the update was out already. Last time I played it a few weeks ago I had to dl an update and the game seemed improved.
I bought Alan Wake, Mass Effect and Splinter Cell. I don't own any CoD games for 360 or PS3.
"everyone only bought games that got great reviews?"
Doesn't everybody do that already? From my years spent working at Gamestop I came to the conclusion that 90% of gamers out there have identical game libraries. The rest get derided for actually wanting to play or for actually enjoying stuff like Lost Planet 2 or Sniper Ghost Warrior.
It always amuses me when everybody cries poverty and how there's more games out than they can afford yet they'll willingly slap down $80, $100, $150 for an edition that comes with some dollar store level tchotkes or a $10 Walmart RC car. I'd rather have the 2, almost 3 new games that $150 will get me.
Come on Ubi, toss Wii owners a bone and give them an Assassins Creed or Tom Clancy title instead of constantly shovelling out Rabbids games.
I think it's time they drop the base model down to $129. At that price I'd buy one. I can't justify almost $200 for a handheld.
I want R3 to be great. I liked the first 2 and thought they were good but they were missing a certain intangible "spark" that kept them from being truly great.
Yes and no. A console doing well worldwide helps the company, not me. Great numbers in Zimbabwe doesn't help me when it comes to which games and developers support the console in my home country.
Almost half a million? No matter how you slice it that's pretty impressive. I honestly didn't think it would have that kind of impact and this doesn't even include the new arcade yet.
Good numbers for PS3, they got a nice solid boost.
I don't own a wii so I haven't been following their numbers enough to tell how it's doing.
All companies should feel confident, they'll all be going into the holidays with a signifi...
Yea, especially because M.E. 3 will feature the conclusion to one of the most epic stories I've ever experienced in a game.
Let's be completely honest here,UC3 will be good but it'll simply be Drake in another setting with a storyline of no great importance. It's not like the series has an epic, series spanning plot like Mass Effect does.
Protip: If money is tight and there's alot of games you want, skip the collectors edition. The extra $40 for this can almost buy another game. An extra $20 here, $40 there adds up quickly.
I'm pretty sure Seanbaby wrote this exact thing years ago.
Ungrateful scumbag. If there is anything on the packaging indicating a beta test edition it'll probably be a collectors item one day.
Ok, so what games besides CoD, Halo and maybe GT5 are left this fall?
What's a Scott Pilgrim? I still have no idea what this character is. I see the ads for the movie but all I can focus on is how Michael Cera doesn't age at all.
We'll see. Games always end up looking better/worse than in the previews once I get them home. I usually agree with the multitude of "it didn't look that washed out on my tv" comments that sometimes get posted for example.
It looks cool, I've kinda always wanted to learn how to play.
Nice to see some creative titles sneaking into the marketplace.
