That's the point, man :) Destiny IS a perfectly fine game that many people enjoy...Despite the slagging "hardcore" gamers and press have given it.

Pretty sure its the most successful 7/10 game of all time. Tells you how unimportant enthusiast press and tastes are becoming.

They always claimed it would be a cinematic, story-drive, single player experience. The only people who feel disappointed by how the game turned out are those who weren't paying attention or need MP in their games.

It would be nice to see the hyperbolic news media and the gaming community as a whole take a bloody chill pill. The negativity that surrounds each major exclusive release (X1 or PS4) is disheartening to people who just enjoy games.

What's ...

Agreed. I don't play the Star Wars MMO, however, its still alive, getting updates and has a healthy player count. I'm sure it makes money for EA. So you have a proven, profitable enterprise backed by a fanbase and established IP (Star Wars), versus an untested, unfinished IP.

Part of business is knowing when to trim the fat, cancel projects and focus on profitability. Whoever wrote this article doesn't have the good sense God gave a peanut.

The most alarming aspect of your comment is that three people actually agreed with you.

All RPGs, including Bioware's, have quests where you go from point A to point B at the behest of so-and-so to acquire some relic or another.

I'm kind of tired of the brainless parroting of "fetch quest" and MMO-trappings in references to DA: I. A game is a game, with certain mechanics designed to inflate playtime and *potential enjoyment and perceived value for players. You can beat the entirety of Dragon Age Inquisition without doing any of the "fetch...

It's a 7-10K difference between PS4 and X1. That's why the PR is so muted (check leakers on Neogaf).

They threw everything and the kitchen sink and that's all they pulled ahead. Not the best situation. December will be unpleasant, I feel.

Leading for a week, on the back of a price drop and a bundle with one of the biggest European IPs (Fifa) does not indicate a trend.I guarantee its back under the PS4 next week.

That's a week, not a month in the UK. Their (X1) sales were "moderately" better for ONE week. People need to read these things carefully.

The reasonable folk knew this was going to happen. What did MS even announce at TGS while Sony named off exclusive after exclusive? The X1 won't ever have a foothold in Japan, it was a token regional release done out of pride.

Is China the final scribble on the chalkboard before even the Mountain Dew soaked, Master Chief t-shirted fan girls throw in the towel? 'Cause I'm getting tired of the cheerleading, and wishful thinking. X1 isn't bouncing back, anywhere. At best it's fighting for second place with the Wii U and seems to be utterly lifeless in every market outside the US. Even UK sales dropped off a cliff.

It refuses to die. Some powerful necromamcers over at Sony HQ.

Respect? For what? Creating yet another media/PR-sh!tstorm? You don't get respect for telling the truth, that's expected.

Same Phil that drove the 1st party output into the ground for the last 4 years of the 360's life too. But let's glorify the man. Okay.

That's "sold through", as in to consumers too. Jim made a point of mentioning that factoid. Unlike the 5m channel stuffed from MS.

Oh, and someone should probably let VGCs know that they need to "touch up" their figures.

MS came into the industry last gen, buying up every 3rd party exclusive that they could get their hands on. Unless you're 10 years old (possible, given your posts), you should remember that.

In the PS2 era, Sony was lavished with 3rd party titles because they had such a massive install base.

"Exclusive for 2015." You people must not be watching the show.

4322d ago 32 agree4 disagreeView comment

Considering that at E3 MS were announcing games with no foreseeable release dates and CGI trailers, I don't know how much farther into the future they can reach to pad their "exclusive book". (Cross Ryse and Dead Rising 3 off that list, too.)

This is not a surprise, at all.

In what region? The world does not constitute US sales alone. And PS4 is outselling the X1 in EVERY MARKET, not just the US, and UK. PS3 also caught up last gen, worldwide, or did you forget that. So yes, it is a false equivalency. The conditions and comparisons are not the same at all, but whatever you need to tell yourself.

4322d ago 5 agree5 disagreeView comment

False equivalency. The market, brands and socio-economic situations from generation to generation are miles apart. Oh, and MS's box doesn't have a one year head-start.

I do agree with with you though, this article is clickbait.

Works fine in Canada. You know, one of the TWO announced territories for the beta lol What is the purpose of this article, other than to point out the obvious? "Stuff not announced or designed anywhere for except USA and Canada doesn't work in other regions: report".

Vita has sold more units world-wide at this point, let that sink in. Wii U is an irrelevancy to this generation's discussions on console hardware/ 3rd party software sales.
