@Vegamyster
It is not implied that Sony denied him, rather, he wants to make games on a smaller scale than what Sony is after. His visions weren’t being stunted by them, he simply is choosing a smaller budget to reach said vision. That’s the difference and they get the benefit of the doubt given their track record.
Eh, the article states that he simply wanted to go it on his own, not that Sony held him back or kept him from making what he wanted (something they are known to allow their teams to do).
Like the great proclamation in the title, right? Like your reply which doesn’t even tackle the topic?
No, it isn’t.
Interesting how you left out things missing from the Series X (like Wi-Fi 6) while also not understanding a few technical details (like the PS5 having a faster GPU despite the X’s having more CUs - an advantage we’ve yet to see make any tangible difference when up against the Sony’s machine).
Also, typing “lmaooooooooo” clearly illustrates that you’re low on clues.
Um, people are idiots for comparing parts of a console to another? Sounds some self reflection is needed here.
No. Let GTA remain GTA. That’s what made it so successful in the first place.
Currently playing on PC and actually liking it a lot. Definitely one for old schools fans of horror who grew up with stuff like Alone in The Dark, the old RE games, and the early Silent Hill titles!
That or give it a much needed break.
No, it doesn't and THAT is okay.
Yeah, he knew exactly what he was doing. That said, he's also better ignored, because he got just what he wanted out of mentioning Halo (post history and context matter) — for people to respond to him. It is classic trolling. Hit that report button and let's bring it back to relevance.
OT: God of War did some work for PS4. Not doubt Ragnarok will be huge on PS5!
I get the preference, I’m just saying it doesn’t have to be them ;)
There will always be competition. It doesn't have to be Xbox.
That said, the Series S|X are more desired products than the One was at launch, so this is definitely down to supply.
That’s cold man! XD
What "should have been" was you keeping it reasonable instead of getting needlessly aggressive and then personal. I simply disagreed with you in my initial reply and you could have ignored it. Was a simple disagreement, sir.
So, yeah, let's move on.
When you call something lackluster, others can give their views on why it isn’t. Exactly what you did when tried to defend the opposing view (albeit with some insults thrown in, but all is forgiven). It’s not a ‘moving of goalposts’. This is a discussion board and evaluating critical and commercial reception to combat claims of weakness is appropriate.
Since you’re clearly heated about this, probably best to agree to disagree at this point. You think it’s lackluster - I don...
- Demon's Souls being a Remake is irrelevant. That doesn't devalue its importance to the PS5's launch lineup.
- Miles a full-fledged game (a 10+ hour experience, in fact, and clearly one you haven't played).
- There is also Sackboy's Adventure (like Miles, it is selling much more on the PS5).
Those are all new, well received games.
Regarding your petty "savior" insult, that's cute, bu...
You can disagree (and dismiss games to fit a narrative), but the reception speaks for itself. It is infinitely better than almost all previous PlayStation consoles and does NOT belong in the same category as the Series S|X.
It isn’t about ‘fanboy goggles’ (ironic given, at least in my case, I have no horse in this race and presented you with facts you clearly didn’t rebut).
Your point was Sony should have looked to MS on how to spend less. Mine was that’s silly given Sony’s strat. is the more successful one.
@Vegamyster
He understands Sony’s aim for the mass audience and he’s after something else. That isn’t “I want to make this and they stopped me dead”.
“ However, rather than chasing mass audience appeal, Toyama says his games "choose their audience, in a way".
A broader aim =! a forced retention. He’s also able to make it on his own and has high respect for them (as per Japanese articles on this subject).
