the last paragraph of the preview summed up my feelings exactly.
when hd-dvd was still in the competition, we never saw these articles. now, blu-ray is the hd disc standard and all of a sudden, dd is going to storm the world? are there people who hate sony that much to start printing the ridiculous articles? if dd was going to be such a force in the market, we would have had these types of stories long ago.
dd is not going to be huge based on a fringe following. you like it and that's good, but it's a long time from being the preferred way to own movies. i do agree that as a rental service, dd has potential in the next 5-8 years, but people will still choose discs as far as how they want to own their favorite films.
anytime someone makes a POINT to say: "i'm a playstation/360 fan"-it means they AREN'T a fan.
at one point in the article the author says the impressive looking game is on track. (not rubbish)
then says after they first showed the demo to an audience; it was met with a thunderous applause.

if that is true, then hd-dvd would have succeeded just based on ms endorsement.....it didn't.
and you must not have read the article because it laid out a very clear picture of ms self-serving business practices. let me know when you write such a complete and well written paper that refutes this authors claims. then we can talk.
take a while and read the article. the theme of it isn't about 360 sales or hd-dvd failure in particular. it's about ms and their business practices. not necessarily about gaming but relevant to it and an excellent article. a lot of research and thought went into it. very well written.
agreed. i just got on someone for doing the exact thing you are talking about. in response to you query, although we haven't seen the finished game, i like the look and feel of gaiden 2 better than DMC4. but need to wait to play a finished version before i'm able to make a fair comparison.
gaiden can't begin to compare to the GOW series. and when they drop GOW3, i'll remember this completely ridiculous post.
just by what you said about the fighting. gaiden is JUST a fighter. GOW is so much more with better production value, enemies, strategy, story,weapons upgrades..... heLL, better everything! i can't even comprehend ANYONE even thinking that.
i was thinking button masher too. but i didn't mean it necessarily as criticism. the players char. moves so fast during fight moves; you couldn't see what he was doing. at that point, i thought, hec, you could just mash the buttons because you can't see your guy pull off the moves.
watch it again if you don't believe me.
dvd9 took off on the basis of dvd player being put into ps2. at that time, a lot of people were satisfied with VHS. but when people started using the dvd in ps2 for movies too........ i wouldn't sell the effect of blu being in ps3 short.
you're pretty limited as to what games you play aren't you. because i love the game selection on ps3(one of the reasons i bought the system) and look at the lineup for this year.

resistance was a launch title and has sold 3 million.
gears came out after 360 had been out a year and sold 4.5 million. don't you think diff. in sales could be attributed to low install base at launch(of ps3) for resistance?

why is the 360 version the "definitive version"? both games are the same. the diff. is the dlc. and if the game i get at retail is the same one on the 360, then that's fine. i think too much is being made of this.
the only way this is a big deal is if rockstar did this of their own accord.(no payoff by ms) but ms just bought extra content and 360 owners will have the option to buy. it's just business. i don hope this extra content is worth all the fuss it's causing. ...
