every review i have seen has both versions video equal.but the reason the edge goes to BR is because it seems thats the format everyone refers to when talking about hi def.
this isn't very fair to the 10 or 12 million people who have no hdmi in their systems, nor is it fair to the millions who have experienced 1 or more red rings of death. also, why would anyone buy one of the current systems without these upgrades when they could just wait?
only 6 courses, 15 golfers and no mini-golf? they better do more than that for the US release or it will be the first HS game i DONT buy.
you want big titles? killzone2 is slated(by gamestop)for release in feb. of "08. mgs4 is slated for release in march. if gta4 releases feb.-april, it will have to wait until i get through these 2 HUGE titles.
p of g, you make these comments that don't make sense. what big lineup of games for the x360 is coming out in 2008? i keep up on gaming news and i haven't heard squat. even more to the point, what FIRST PARTY games are coming to360 or wii for that matter? better look before you write about great lineups in '08.
the wii sells because it's cheap. but the games for it are the same tired titles that were on the GC and N64. so this system is a fad that will die out when people realize they aren't getting new titles. plus, no HD capability. in todays world, that's ridiculous. the 360 failure rate is terrible and after halo they have no first party games that matter. plus, name three first party or exclusive blockbuster titles coming to 360 next year. the ps3 is a solid piece of electronics that has a grea...
it isn't a killer app if it doesn't move consoles. get your terminology straight before you use it you dope.
i agree with you on lair. but killzone2 and mgs4 make halo 3 look like an 8 bit cartridge. you say you prefer hd-dvd but you don't really give reasons. i'm using BR because of the ps3, which makes it a good value. also, 1080p as soon as it came out, plus the coating on the bottom of the discs makes scratches virtually impossible. i could go on but these are just examples. just say why you like it next time. im curious what advantages you see in it. even microsoft isn't very confident in it or...
fable wasn't very good(the developer even apologized for it), and mass effect has been delayed twice. think before you write.
as i just said 2 minutes earlier. games are not alive nor are they capable of harming, threatening, intimidating, or scaring people. how many idiots believe games "scare" people? what nonsense.
do you live in a mental hospital? games can't intimidate! what, are they gonna push people around or threaten to beat them up? what immature hogwash.
why do you have to say its halo AND its bungie? this is the only game they ever did that amounted to anything. i will say it will do well by default on the basis that ms has never had or has another great first party game.
it isn't that gears is impossible on ps3. it won't happen because the game was funded, and belongs to, microsoft. and i doubt that they're going to allow sony to have one of their games.
first mgs to 360 and now alan wake to ps3. all releases coming by way of a U.K. retail outlet. what fantasy land are the brits getting their info from?!
it seems funny that no one else has any knowledge about this. i mean, if microsoft knew of this AND it was true, they would have had a press conferance about it already. plus, why would it be relevant to put in a press release that it is coming to the 360 1 year after halo 3. that sounds like a bogus article made by a bored ms fanboy.
yes, this is great stuff but come on sony, where is the demo on the playstation store? you want this game to sell big then give us something playable.
for every developer who says they struggle with ps3 there is one who says they dont. this isn't an issue to me. as long as we get great games, who cares.
itagaki is the guy responsible for the doa series right? what button mashing, sexploitation that was. ninja gaiden, with its bad camera angles, cheap bosses, and steep learning curve isn't much better than doa. he should develop a couple of GOOD games before he criticizes someone else for attempting something new.
maybe you don't care "power of green", but i don't want to buy games that have multiple disc switches if i don't have to. but it's good you don't mind, because games are only going to get more storage intensive and microsofts compression crap can only go so far.
you must see something that the vast majority doesn't see. because BR is controlling hi def sales right now.just look at all of the retailers who aren't going to carry HD-DVD players and movies anymore. i must say that every BR movie i've watched has been fantastic. add this to the fact that its built into every ps3 and you have the makings of a winning format. microsoft should have made HD-DVD standard in their console to give this format(HD-DVD) a fighting chance.
