seems like (after reading the reviews) the three sites that gave 8s-gave them based on personal preference and not as an impartial review. i'm on chapter three, and i've loved the whole game so far. cut-scenes are fantastic and i can't wait to finish so i can start game again.
just the idea of kratos fighting the monkey sounds kick @ss to me. and i don't know why?

everything i read made me feel that they were over-reaching a little for their plans with this.
although i liked the location, i never was in love with the visual style they were using but that's more personal preferance than anything else.

every quality game that comes out and is a single-player,story driven game-i buy it. MGS4s naomi is the hottest video game girl. i usually don't pay attention because, you know, they're not real; but she's amazing.
but based on what i saw: games like resistance 2,gears 2, and KZ2 are on a level waaaay above this. but, i've never been a fan of the COD series. too linear and too short.
and just a curiosity: why do so many people keep saying COD4 was a nice change of pace? i was playing "kill the terrorists" games on several previous systems. nothing new there. killing helghast, chimera, or the locust horde; now that's nice and sweet.
