199 is the sweet spot? Well what about the 360? it has been there for a year and they still get outsold by the Wii every month, not to mention they are outsold by the PS3 in most territories outside of the US. 199 may have been a sweet spot 5 -10 years ago but I think at 299 most real gamers don't have much to complain about given all the features in this gen of consoles.
I have yet to meet someone that is waiting for a 360 price cut before they buy one. Most people I know seem to be ok with the 360 price point. Sony needed a price cut badly. even if PS3 doubles 360 sales it will take at least 10 months for Sony to catch up.
I understand everyone would pefer a lower price but I have yet to hear a community out cry for one is all.
The wii isn't competing against the PS3/360 market, so I don't see the reasoning. Wii has been more expensive than a 360 for a year and it hasn't made a differance. Let's face it parents want to buy their kids toys, and that is what the Wii and DS are. Eventually many Wii owners will become old enough to be gamers and then they will buy the PS3/360 or PS4/720.
Let the kids have there own console, we have ours.
So predicting the PS3 will sell well at 299 is fanboyish? To think that 3 months after the PS2 doubled it's sales and outsold the PS3 with a $50 price drop, that I would be an idiot to think a $100 price drop won't make a significant differance.

Everyone I know that wants a PS3 has been waiting for this price point. Some people are going to be shocked when Sept and Oct NPD are released. Aug. may be to soon to predict.
Sounds like what happened last year, Where people got overly excited about a unannouced game that showed up just like this on a list of games, it was 'Savage Moon' a Tower defense PSN title. So fool me once..you know how it goes.. don't expect this to be anything more than a PSN title. They are not going to allow a big annoucement to leak like out on an obscure list.

That is all they are at this point is predictions. They already annouced a price cut at E3 they just didn't say when. Seems like they wanted one in OCT were the PSP go sales would soften the blow of a Price cut, but seeing how slow sales have been the last couple months we may see one sooner than expected.
I am pretty sure they are taking the price drop into account. As far as catching 360 it is very likely to happen considering everyone says they are going to get one if they drop the price. No one is saying that about 360. If they do get the price down to 299, I am sure even most 360 fanboys would agree PS3 would outsell the 360 if they where the same price. If they do get the price down to 299 and not outsell 360 then I will just give up.
WHere is Beyond Good and Evil 2? is it canned or is it 2010. PoP is more likely a 2010 release, 2011 is AC3.
ROCKTOBER 13th can't get here soon enough. I am gonna be busy with this and Brutal Legend. can't remember a day where I had to get 2 games on the same day, this fall is gonna rock.
This is a terrible list. only 2 games deserve to be on it.. Haze and Too Human. the rest is just flame bait. I personally thought RE5 was great online co-op game. SF4 best fighter this gen, AC- great new franchise, Dead Space- awesome, Mass Effect- Best Western RPG next to Fallout, Mirror's Edge- was exactly what we expected nothing more.
I would hate to see a list of games this person did like bc I am sure they are not many to list.

I didn't think the MP would be that good and would have a 'tacked on' feel. But I tried the Beta and I was blown away. What makes it special? The platforming, like the guy above me said people can climb up buildings and hang from ledges, throw propane tanks by you and shoot them. It is just total fun. The MP will be getting as much attention from me as MW2 will this year.

No, I do understand that the Wii is selling well because of new markets, but the market of 150 million PS2 owners is still barely tapped. The Wii is a toy! I think you fail to realize that most people that own a PC and play console games, dislike the way Microsoft does business overall.
