Amazon has millions of viewers at once. Its already been proven that the MGS4 bundle did not cause the down time. If a Halo 3 bundle can survive on Amazon I'm sure a MGS4 one could too.

MGS3 sold 4 million.
Halo is a very popular series played by almost every american kid. Its sold 8 million copies to date. MGS doesn't have mass appeal its always been more of a hardcore game. MGS3 sold 4 million copies. Unless there are thousands of game deprived PS3 owners out there I don't see this being as popular. I expect this to be big in Japan but not so much in the states. Most people I know who play Halo and Gears are 15. How is that hardcore? Goldeneye was the same when it was released. If it wasn't for goldeneye the best fps we'd be playing on consoles would be subpar doom ports.
I had no idea perfect dark and goldeneye were kids games. Maybe I should stop playing them.

I agree that this is all hype. However I'd like you to tell me who the hardcore was in th 70s, 80s, 90s, and then 00s. Then define casual for those time periods. After that I'd like you to explain how platformers went from being hardcore in the 80s to casual in the 00s. then tell me how duck hunt and nes powerpad are diffrent from wii sports and wii fit. After that tell me how these ruined gaming. Your logic is flawed.
Metal Gear was around in the 80s on MSX2 and NES.
