I think there is some truth to this. We are at the point where the mainstream masses are buying into next gen. I am currently selling my xbox one and all of the approaches I have had are from mums and "fifa/cod bro types" who want an xbox one because they had a 360.
edit: I am only selling it because the only game of interest to me in the next year I cant play on my ps4 is QB. Plan to turn it into cash now while they are selling second hand at a good price and pick...
Its known as "Predatory pricing" and while yes it is illegal traditionally competitors have gone out of business before it gets into court. It can only really be judged when there is a market value / cost value to something though. The xbox one is worth what Microsoft say its worth. Its not like foodstuffs or raw materials that have an intrinsic market value. Because there is only one Xbox one, there are no real competitors, only alternatives.
If you had the situat...
Dont drop the price too much MS I am trying to offload mine and want as much of my money back as possible :o)
<bragging t*at>This is a long day at work, looking forward to spinning up my copy tonight. </brag>
Its because publishes are so stressed about last minute slips after spending all their marketing budget selling a date to people they insist the game goes gold (goes to pressing) 2-3 months ahead of launch sometimes now. This means the developers have another 8 weeks + of work to patch into the game. Keep in mind the build that goes gold will have been current as of another month before that as it will have been through QA for a good 3-4 weeks before being signed off.
I will be playing tonight, copy in hand right now :op nir nir ni nirrr nirrrr.
Good old shop to.
I know somebody that worked the QA on this. It was a mess back in Aug when I spoke to them so they have known this for a long time. Didn't delay though did they...
I have never understood why Rockstar dont do more with the expansions between titles. It always seemed to me that they build these amazing worlds then dont maximise their use. i.e. have smaller teams just building stories around them and releasing every six months. They dont even need to be super long, maybe a 4-5 hours of additional stuff. Could even take a different spin like looking at things from the side of the police. Or a story about a firefigher doing a rescue. It would all work withi...
The key issue is that pre-dx12 all draw calls need to be made from a single core. On Xbox One using dx this uses up an entire core all of the time. For dx12 devs can split this workload across cores. Apparently on the Ps4 it requires hardly any CPU time because its direct x that is slow. See a brilliant tech interview with the plain talking metro tech lead. Very interesting.
Its not fan boyism, anybody that understands tech knows that they just did a bad job here, especially ...
decrypt,
Yes I used to just defacto preorder all my games but have started waiting a few days now. With embargos and the like I had been stung a few too many times. I have 1 game on preorder now and thats GTA V and thats only because to a reasonable extent we know what we are getting with that.
Its the driver code for hard disk access from the ps4 system. Its a binary file that when viewed in a hex editor shows a mix of human readable and non human readable executable data.
No need to take words so literally. What I am saying is by looking at any binary in a hex editor you will see human readable elements as above. I believe that his name is in the same camp as the random human readable chunks found in chrome.exe. It just happens in this case its a name.
What I am not convinced about is that this is some fancy story worthy thing like its been made out to be. I think this guys name is just in the binary as the author and someone happens to have l...
Not convinced. If you look at any binary file in a hex viewer like that you will see snippets of readable data. People put their names in code so people know who to argue with about changes.
Here is chrome for instance...
opening chrome.exe in hex edit shows a similar screen but with the plain texts..
"This program cannot be run in DOS mode."
"Symantec Corporation100.U'Syma ntec Time Stamping Services&quo...
Thats why I put a 1TB hybrid in day 1.
Starting to pay off now.
OT: Noticed something pretty neat the other day. If you dont touch a game for a while the PS4 stops updating it until you try and use it again. Thought it was odd that Blacklight had not seen an update in forever so booted it up and ping! gigs of updates.
Deffo. Nice to be able to pick up a game for my XBO. Was getting to the point where I was thinking of selling it as I couldn't justify it after not having really touched it since TF.
Assuming the other versions are in a similar state to the PC early access version for those that have it... it needed the delay.
Its just not ready trust me. I was hoping they were just not releasing up to date builds to us but looks like maybe what we get is representative of where it is.
TBH suits me there is too much to get through so I can live with the news. Rather a quality product than a rushed out mess.
CoolBorders
ahhhh... I bet ya'll too young.
There is multiplayer? Mine hasn't connected to it once yet....
Hope they get it sorted before I burn out and move on.
Why wouldn't I be here telling everyone. Its no skin off my nose if I repeat the talk from the water cooler.
I don't work there so no repercussions for me..
Dear Ubisoft, Please tell me when its fully fixed and I MAY purchase your game at that point.Until then, nice try.
