Hey wait, you forgot that Kotor did have a sequel, it is just that it really sucked...
ME2 for all its faults is wildly better that Kotor 2, normalizing for graphics...
Personally, I think my gaming dollars are better spent on the XBLA games then they are on new release full games a lot of the time.

A map back then and a map now are entirely different things. In 1997 an unreal map was something that a single person put together in a couple of weeks. A modern map has wildly more detail to fill in than those maps did back then... and textures and geometry... and code. So it is not really the same thing anymore.
There is already a Sony+Epic partnership... Way way back in 2007 Epic was having trouble getting their game engine to work on the PS3, and Sony lent Epic a number of engineers so that the PS3 could have some games.
That is why games built on Unreal now look almost as good as the XBox version...
But I am pretty sure Gears will be a 360 exclusive forever...

I would say that was true in 06 and 07, but it certainly is not the case now.
For example, Bulletstorm is generally agreed to be a better game than Killzone 3, and Bulletstorm is certainly the game that everyone is talking about in spite of all the hype for KZ3.
Look I understand you are angry about this, but constantly repeating over and over againb the KZ3 is a better game than Bulletstorm does not make it so...

I liked mining better in mass effect 1, and I really missed driving around planets and exploring them in me2... Even with the dlc that "fixed" that...

That a single guitar game, or even a bi-annual guitar game, with a regularly updated song store is a better business model than cranking out a whole new guitar game every three months.

Max never asked me for a receipt, they just replaced it no questions asked.
