Then the bottom double line is...
Open word gaming AKA next gen gaming, suffers because the PS3's inconsistent and poorly thought out design decisions result in open word games being limited to 256mb of textures accross all three relevant platforms, the xbox, ps3 and PC, even though the PC and xbox do not suffer from the poorly designed limits of the PS3.
So the title of the article should be... "Sony gets act together as the generation winds down"
No... actually, PS3 fanboys are the biggest bunch of crybabies in the history of the internet and he trolls you guys because it works. You fall for every time, hook line and sinker.
But thanks for playing anyhow.
The hard memory limits of the PS3 that the xbox does not suffer. The ps3 video card it limited to 256mb, and the end result, repeatedly, has been texture pop in open word games, which is a really jarring effect... Caused by the PS3 needing to swap different textures in and out of system memory and the video card frame buffer.
The end result is the ps3 exclusives are all hallway shooters because the developers can control the memory requirements of the textures required at...
@callahan09
Read the article, they didn't like the characters because the characters were boring and uninteresting, and the story was bad because it didn't really tie in with the gameplay.
But otherwise, take it for what it is, a visually rich, FPS hallway shooter with space marines, and lots of hectic gameplay...
The trailers lose suspension of disbelief with me, because I am a skydiver in real life, and they are riding around ...
Well Kinect works fine for catching arm waves while you are sitting down, it has no problem with that, and you could even use the pointer interface to shoot, but it wouldn't be one to one...
I just don't see a rails shooter being sold as anything but an XBLA title. Yeah, I could seee that... As part of the promotion leading up to Gears 3.
Way back in the day, Lair was supposed to be a system seller....
iirc, there were even some Lair PS3 bundles.
Oh I agree, it was way back in 2007 I got an xbox for my birthday, and played it all night, and it RROD'd the very next day, so I took it back to Best Buy. They replaced it no questions asked. That one lasted almost a year, and I called max, and received my coffin a few days later, then about two weeks later I got a brand new xbox, once again, no questions asked, that old xbox is now my alternate, and I got a xbox slim w kinect for xmas this year, but the old one is still working for mo...
Yeah, the whole dance game group of people, they are not gamers at all, they don't spend hours at a time getting good at stepping on buttons games, and the 5 million copies of Kinect Dance Central sold shows that these people that only a retard would call casuals shoes that kinect has not indeed taken dance gaming to a whole new level.
DANCE GAMES ARE NOT CASUAL. Get out, go to a anime or game con at your local cc, watch the dance gamers then tell me that they are casu...
Article is wrong on one point... Microsoft got HD DVD exactly right, the future^h^h^h^h^h^h current winner of the format war is downloads. As such, they hedged their bets on HD-DVD and won. They made it easy to drop support for the thing.
The next gen of console will probably not have any removable media at all except for usb drives or some such so that the game can be installed on the internal drive... But most people will download.
Even though the it iz 5 years old, the power of the cell makes the ps3 fasterz thanz allz the supercomputerz in the worldz!
Actually, PS3 fanboys tend to make themselves huge troll targets, because they are the biggest cry babies in the history of the internet. He probably doesn't care one iota, he just likes watching you guys dial 911 for the wahhhhhmbulance
Well Mass Effect 2 on the xbox used ment I had to go and buy a $15 dlc that was free with the new version of the game... That was like half of the game. So even though I picked up ME2 for $20, I still had to buy the cerebrus network dlc to get the whole experience...
As a result, I will only buy games that are discounted now, and 5 years into this generation, there is plenty of back titles that are worthwhile and discounted at this point. Game Stop had a $5-$10 bin for...
Yay, the ice rink will be empty today because of the game and the game, I will have it all to myself!

Well at the end of the day, they are both just FPSs which is well represented already, and personally I am tired of. If you want to do FPS at this point, you have to come up with something new, which is why Left 4 Dead and Portal are still the most memorable FPS's this generation.
Having said that, KZ3 looks like a hallway shooter which I have had my fill of. Hallway shooters are this gens on rails shooter, which, meh, been there done that.
Yeah, put me in the group that doesn't see what all the excitement about KZ3 is. Looks like very standard fair, that we have seen for the last three years on both consoles.
Also... Can we please move on past the FPS experience already. Been done already, time for a new thing.
The Normandy gets blown up.
Lol, I am at work, but they are probably busy playing the games that came out 2 years ago???
No longer state of the art, but not out of date... Can developers tell the types of stories they want to tell with this tech? Yes. Has the old hardware caused people to stop buying them or the software? No.
The point is... They still work, and they both are capable of making fun games.
As far as I am concerned, you can make a game with great graphics, but the game can still be a snorefest. See Farcry 2.
Anyhow, if they were to re...
Yeah, CD's and DVD's pretty much prove that, download music and movies never took off.
Oh wait...
