540p doesn't actually exist. You can just say that Alan Wake has 540 lines of resolution.
Also, it depends on the upscaling hardware in your upscaling dvd player, not all are created equal. I had blu-ray and stopped using it because... Well netflix and zune are so damn compelling to not have to go to the video store....

And the hardware scaler on the xbox is superior in every way to the ps3 non-scaler, because the ps3 has to use the power of the cell to scale games....
There could be a whole new console cycle, and there will still be (when all is said and done) 150 million ps3's and xboxs in use. With that kind of install base, there will be games coming out for many years to come.
But other than that, yeah, for the first two years the only difference the new consoles will have is the current games, but running at 1080p resolution...
I dunno, all these games look about like what we expect games to look like this generation... It all comes down to artistic direction.
Incorrect, it proves that you can put a dress on a dog and teach it to dance, but it is still gonna look like a dog in a dress dancing.
Killzone 3 is the dog here, and trying to play KillZone3 as a dance game is just wrong, and a crime against Dance games.
I was shocked at how long it took for KillZone 3 to boot up... OMG that game would get zero play at my house on that point alone...
On the PS3 they could rename it, KillVille, WarVille, or DestroyVille or some other overtly threatening name to go for the cheap "your parents will hate this game" promotional points. As a side effect all the PS3 fanboys would defend the game and repeatedly insist that it is the best looking version of FarmVille, and they would add it to their list of PS3 exclusives to throw around everywhere.
No they dont want Farmville to go head to head with Kingdom for Keflings or World of Keflings because it would show that Farmville does well simply because there are few alternatives...
All Square has to do to turn themselves around is fire all of the programming staff, all of their creative staff, leave the games business, go into the movie business, and farm out the spin off games to decent game developers.
I don't know, KZ3 had ok sales. Its sales were definately better than bad. Half million launch week, maybe 1.5m over its lifetime. That is decent sales.
That is a fair bit better than Bulletstorm, for example, which will probably only sell a million over its lifetime...
When this comes out on GamesOnDemand for $20 it is a day one buy for me, but it doesn't look like the type of game I would shuffle a dvd for...
Actually, the xbox has two different game stores. It also has the XNA indy games store, which is a whole different vibe than you get in the XBLA store.
Some weeks I find myself buying $1 games all week, and many of these games offer hours of play.
I spent one who day stuck on Baby Maker Extreme, and im not quite sure why...

Two player co-op is with random people is always awkward for me. Three player co-op should make it less bro-mancy, and offer a chance to meet more people and see how they interact with other people.
Yes because even though things like dance games are selling like nuts on the Xbox because of its superior Dance game technology, PS3 fans are obviously the final arbitors of what constitute hard core games;)
Because we all know the only true games are games with the words "kill", "war" or "destroy" in their name.
Well the xbox being the one true platform, and all the other versions bleing ports, I'd have to congradulate the developers for offering other gamers a taste of what the xbox has to offer.
Thank you developers for not ignoring the people who bought the wrong platform;)
