lots of that stuff you mentioned was introduced in tm2 or just expected advancements for sequels. The main problem imo and I think shared by many was messing with the very arcadey yet tight physics that suited the game perfectly - running and gunning was never the same since then. Tm black brought it back for the most part but it was still not the same as 2.
nice, that means it can go on sale even cheaper now!
:P
I want to buy all these games and feel the hype train, then i buy them and typically dont play them because im still beating old games, and by the time im done its usually on sale for 30 >_<
haters gonna hate :<
why? so you can be laid off? Without their high markup of used games gamestop would probably be on their way out of the retail business - or having a few salaried managers do all the work and getting rid of everyone else.
besides the fact that used prices are so inflated it is cheaper to buy new.
for example
Gamestop madden new: 60
Gamestop madden used: 55
Of course it will still sell somehow... because people just hand over the money without thinking and encouraging this process even more. So what happens to the original owner and his multiplayer key - I bet he still doesnt get to play it - even though by their standards he bought it so he should have...
MS in really the only one likely to release a new console if it wants to try to capitalize on a headstart once again, but as is, the console is selling just fine and as long as the software keeps coming and the Hardware keeps selling, I see them holding out as long as possible to #1 profit #2 make sure the "next box" is as powerful, cheap, and reliable as possible. I'm not saying this as a fan boy, but Sony should have a decent advantage next gen due to the risks it took this ge...
nice fanboy comment right there... MS would probably have a few mandatory installs if #1 every xbox had a HD #2 games came on a larger format then DVDs.
But you just go back under your rock and pretend everything is ok - and you should be installing games regardless on any system if its possible (if your not an arcade owner) to save wear and tear on your disc drives.
still hoping for a nice sequel to PSO, PSU didnt do it for me and the mmo sub fee attached to it was a slap in the face - small party instances with populated lobbies shouldn't equal mmo-like fees.
But Im sure Diablo 3 will change that perception for good with some kind of premium service if not just a basic fee in general. I dont mind paying sub fees but when your paying for content that is nothing more then bug fixes and nerfs & buffs... It just doesn't make sen...
This article is filled with everything I dont want to hear, but I'm scared its true that the majority of these devs are going to cater to the ever growing "dumb gamers" population if my young cousins are any example. Soon as they dont know how to do something instead of trying to figure it out, they just had the controller over within about 5 seconds of drooling at the screen - and any type of competitive game that they lose nearly brings them to tears (future rage quitters for ...
my favorite class, I can't wait to see what they come up with - i just hope its viable long term, and not a novelty that everyone checks out and goes back to normal weapons. Although implying that it probably includes a giant robot is always a good thing.
/sheds tear
it is good to be back - and its good to see a comment section not cluttered with walls of text of hate and systems wars atm, but that'll be over with in a few hours.
Anyway, nice looking site!
I can't wait to get this one probably more so then any other game right now since I at least have a small chance of my woman playing it with me - I just hope she takes losing well, I'm a kart fiend.
look man, if you work at a gamestore and post on NFG (2 qualifications for industry experts) - you should have known xbox will still get their Halo, MS owns it so they can make it themselves or form/acquire a studio to make it for them. All they have to do is keep pushing the graphics and rehash the gameplay and throw in a new mode here and there - and it'll still sell millions based off the IP alone.
The only news here is the surprise of fairly loved company (bungie) having some...
prepare to be milked indeed, but as much as people complain about other milked franchises, they still seem to sell - so no lesson learned on the developers part as long as gamers keep buying stuff like CoD and make a $15 map pack with 2 rehashed maps shatter sells records - this avalanche will never stop.
anyways, maybe they'll show their first multi-platform game at E3
This is one very deep game, I sunk about 15-20 hours into the game and really didn't even scratch the surface. Not only is it a space combat game but you can literally build your own empire. I havent touched my copy of the game in awhile, but despite that I still got my money's worth - just to be in awe of the game design... It's like when you wonder if I can do that, it's often that yes you can - but you will be on the community forums digging for information.
One of the greatest games I have ever played, and I still hope that someday the magic can be recreated... But at the same time its a lot harder in these days since now i'm old and the whole online experience that it brought is no longer new. Not only was it a great game in itself the fact that it was the first of its kind for console gamers really made it Icon status in my mind.
Along with Q3, PSO pretty much dominated a few years of my life - and I can remember being so excited ...
If you want NBA, you might be able to use the league pass broadband on your ps3 browser - if its really of interest to you. But it might require a special software D/L so I would search around for it. A bit too much $ for me though; it's an O.K. deal if you live and breath to watch Bball, but when you are only loyal to one team its kind of a large investment, especially if a decent amount of games come on T.V. anyway.
Yeah I'm with you, I haven't played Halo in a long time - becuase i just never really got into it, not because it was bad, its just if i wanted to play an FPS i would rather just do it on PC with a mouse, but as time has passed I can warm up to console shooters much easier now and throw me some nice customization stuff and I'll definitely take a look - but if you make all the custom stuff so generic just because you want to sell DLC, you'll end right back on the do not want list - obviously s...
as soon as people stop buying hardware, they'll be no place for Nvidia or ATI, as soon as profits start slowing down, they can't afford R&D to make next generation cards, that are not just small tweaks.
Things like eyefinity and 3D gaming really need to catch on for them to keep those profits rolling in, because it keeps you on a upgrade path just to be able to use those features.
hmm your mad over casual yet promoting Apple?
