Before EA decided to bail out they were still selling good if not better then 2k series, despite nba 2k being the critics choice.
I really dont believe they cared about their integrity by not releasing the game...I think they just messed up and it wasnt ready in time. Remember this is EA we are talking about, they dont usually throw away the chance to make money just because a game is mediocre.

I would also like to add in that several/many? indie studios are building their way to the top because of PC sales. The market is healthy for both big and small...you just gotta bring something of interest.

I dont think hes overestimating it at all. The media gets behind apple and the hype train never stops. I think people here and other gamer centric forums lose sight of the bigger picture when surrounded with like minded people and all of a sudden the vocal minority seems like the majority.

It wouldn't be more expensive then their tablets. And potentially "subsidized" by their itunes. They'll gladly sell you moderately priced hardware since they make money off every purchase in itunes...which your locked into.
Im not sure as i think tablets could very well be the next mainstream craze like consoles are now, it'll still take another 10 years/console cycle though and soon people may look at console gaming in the same was console gamers look at PC gamers now.

I loved the Dreamcast for many games but PSO, Quake 3, and Armada in particular, but since those days are over with I wish sega would commit theirselves back into heavy software development. They still turn out some gems with rough edges at times but I think there is a lot of money to be made by porting old DC and Saturn games with a few enhancements - mostly getting rid of grainy textures and add AA and you'd have a modern game again thats upper indie level quality.

I think it will still be supported by 3rd parties, the 360 has a huge install base and there is really no reason to give it up like the original xbox. I really have no idea what MS themselves are doing...to be such a rich company they still have very little invested in their 1st party games/exclusives - they seem to be happy milking the money out of typical licensing fees and Xbox live fees.

the end game is just too grindy and they are already having tendencies to crap on the players that suffered through all that grinding (random gear bags in pvp anyone?? enjoy your 4th duplicate boots!) by making it easier with the next patch down the road.
