Looks like Dauntless on first glance.
Big caveat here, but IF the spec rumors of 9TF PS5 and 12TF Xbox are true, that tells me Sony is shooting for $399. I don't expect either to top $499.
Sony saw great success at that $399 market for the reasons you mention. $399 is probably a lot closer to mass appeal launch pricing in the modern market.
It's an Xbox website.
Rebranding does not just mean giving something a new name.
Look at all the times McDonalds, Pepsi, Apple, 90% of pro sports teams, or countless other companies have rebranded over the years.
Dry those tears.
From a business sense, it's very smart and safe. Steady, reoccurring income is coveted by most businesses. MS and Xbox is healthy enough financially to take the short term hit.
The exclusive content issue affects the ecosystem as a whole, not just GP. Hopefully they finally get that sorted. But GP ultimately differs from services like Netflix by having more diversity in revenue sources.
Of the 2000 or so games available on Xbox, only about 10% are av...
People played games before the internet. Shocking, I know.
I don't know, maybe they're just excitable people? A more interesting question to me is why did their positive responses trigger you into a feable downplay attempt? Hmm...
I agree that co-op is great, as are SP experiences. We shouldn't forget that competive MP has been at the heart of gaming from the beginning, though.
Whether it was true versus MP like table tennis/pong, or it was besting each other's scores on SP cabinets, gamers' competive natures have driven the industry over the decades as much as anything else.
The market is so large now, all tastes are well accounted for. Some people don't enjoy t...
Better question is: Does anybody care what games I beat?
Mike's Tweet did come across as some weird flex that probably should be seen as meaningless gatekeeping. Whether it was a code or password, I have tons of classic games that I did not legitimately "beat." Somehow I sleep well at night despite it.
"Way back" two months ago?
I think millions of us beat it at some point over the last 6 years.
@bluefox
Hmmm. You might want to search "PS4 Pro shortages."
?
These are games that are on the service now that the author "suggests" you play. I read similar recommendations lists for Netflix or Prime all the time.
No harm in them, and sometimes it's helpful to get some suggestions -especially when quite a few new users might be firing up GP for the first time this holiday season.
It will be very interesting to watch how the market responds if we get a $499 Series X, a $399 PS5, and a $299 Lockhart as rumored. Both companies would be well positioned. Sony's brand loyalty will probably still keep them ahead, but going for both the high end specs and the low end budget option wouldn't be a bad strategy for MS.
For the vast majority of games, the power differences will be negligible in practice, but as we saw in 2013-2016, the media and fanboys...
IMO, no one should say that MS hasn't been deservedly dunked on this gen. Attacking people for looking forward to the improvements they made seems counterproductive to me, though.
Personally, I'd rather be reading articles that are positive and optimistic about these topics then just seeing more complaints about what they can't change (there are no time machines).

I can only begin to imagine T2's asking price for just 1 month. If Epic pays low 7 figures for mid-tier PC releases to have a window of exclusivity, imagine what Sony would have to pay here.
You'd probably be able to find an entire AAA game with that kind of money. Ironically, with the online being the most popular portion of GTA5, we'll probably have to all wait 6 months+ for it to come out of beta.
Anti consumer and dumb use of money imo. ...
You mean acquire Take2? That's a little out of Sony's price range...
A couple of things to consider. Even your "big" kickstarter projects like Shenmue or Bloodstained only managed about 65k backers each. Star citizen will soon hit 2.5 million. The average $ per backer isn't too far from that of those other games (deduct the private funding SC has received). But you're looking at 40X as many people supporting the game.
Then consider what is being done with that money. You can go back through all of their targets over the ye...
No need to read up on revenue vs. profit, as no one is saying that they are profiting that much. Financial results aren't statistics either.
If anyone believes that Xbox costs and investments are greater than the $10 billion in revenue a year they bring in, then I question a lot of the comments around here. So many people question their investment in games, then say they're not profitable, yet never stop to ask "well where does that money go?"

@Ricegum
Revenue has been about $2-2.5 billion a quarter for a while. It's one of the few numbers we do know.
Their gaming division is actually neck and neck with the entirety of Nintendo.
Difference being, they can afford to subsidize things like GP because of the billions the other divisions bring in. I don't think that's something they will or need to do, but it's a great advantage should they truly want to take ri...
We've fully switched to the glass type. Pyrex and other brands. They make reheating so much easier.
