But again, why is this a thing that is an option, and why are they "choosing" one way over the other? That's where the confusion lies.
And sorry, but the conspiracy nonsense isn't the answer. It is pretty funny that we heard so many people argue that smart delivery was the same thing on PS5, though.
I don't care what the marketing deal might be, why on earth would they want to go through the trouble of making 2 "apps" i...
With MM if you buy on PS4, you get the free upgrade and save transfer.
With others like Dirt 5 and Maneater, if you buy on PS4, you get the free upgrade but saves don't transfer.
Why not?
Unless someone can give an actual, factual answer, then it's still confusing.
We can hope that some BC titles that don't get actual upgrades (just boost mode) will allow it. But what about Witcher 3, or AC? What about oth...
Those are all fair questions.
That's the beauty in what they're trying to do. Whatever you choose to be your "primary" or "secondary," they'll be there to make money.
If you're interested in making a high end $2000 PC, or $500 console, or $1000 cell phone/tablet your "primary" gaming device, they have a way to offer you their products.
If you're you're not interested in those so much, or don't want to fully jump into their eco...
Lol. Please don't encourage him. You guys are just as bad as the "ms diehards."
MS isn't trying to do squat to Nintendo or Sony. They'll maybe use these Bethesda IPs as exclusives to gain market share, but that's really only aimed at building up their base heading into the future.
They are focused on expanding their brand and service to be the lead in the future of the business. That future is services and streaming across all p...
I won't disagree with you on the proprietary side. And we haven't even mentioned how much I dislike segate!
I find their solution here interesting. We know 4.0 lanes have twice the bandwith of 3.0. It seems like they could have gotten the speed with a 3.0 x4 solution, on the SSD, but went with a 4.0 x2 solution instead??
I didn't articulate that well before. If we compare 3.0 ssds, it doesn't tell the whole story. At the same time, if we ...
It does though, Razzer. They went 4.0 for a reason (guessing it's to do with other components and things like SFS).
Otherwise, why not stay with gen 3, save costs, and not go custom with it?
Going with 2 lanes also takes us back to the consistent performance they've been pushing for the other components. I don't know if anyone has torn that apart to figure out what exactly their intent is there beyond consistent speeds, but it's interesti...
@isarai
I mean you're linking me to a pcie 3.0 drive instead of a 4.0, but sure, let's tell others how they're "wrong."
Try harder.
You always have to be wary of proprietary stuff like this. So far, it at least isn't launching at an extreme markup from what you can find otherwise. It's kind of interesting that the system with the supposedly highly customized SSD allows for off the shelf expansion, and the one with the supposedly less customized solution requires specialized drives.
But there's trade of to think about, here. Namely, the fact that it's an idiot-proof plug and play impleme...
Yeah, I think it's safe to say that MS (and the rest of the world) knew Amazon was getting into streaming...

Orion seems like nice tech, and I'm certain that they're happy to have it, but it's not $7b nice.
Just like those saying that this is just a way to get multiplats into gamepass, i...
Yep. People scoffed at the "we don't think of Sony and Nintendo as our competitors" talk, but this is why Spencer said that.
The biggest cloud providers in the world are all vying to come out on top of this much bigger war ahead. We should be glad that gaming is big part of it.
So far, MS has the tech, relationships, and (especially now) content makers to really take a good lead here. Let's see if they can pull it off.
In no way does the article or just the title (which I assume is all you read) imply that it will have more RPGs than others.
The point is that for OG Xbox and early in 360, we identified Xbox with western RPGs. It certainly looks like they're returning to that.
In much the way it's been associated with "dude-bro shooters" in more recent years, this looks like a return to its old ways of having a particular type of RPG as its identity bas...
In that scenario, I think Sonic would still hit Switch.
A large Japanese purchase would likely not disrupt too much since Nintendo and MS play nice together. I could see Sony getting cut out though since Switch, PC, xcloud, and, to a less extent, Xbox itself, would be able to provide japanese audiences with the titles.
I would be happier with an announcement that they're partnering with Sega. Drop even more Sega games into gamepass. I think a library...
I found the campaign to be fair, but in a $20-30 budget title sort of way.
My complaint would be that it took them ~5 years, with constant delays, to deliver that game. Not so good imo.
Nice call on Outrun btw. Now I'm thinking Rare Racing game could happen.
Not sure why they haven't moved on Bluepoint yet. Maybe they don't need to, but the price tag is only going up for them.
I'd buy Blupoint, triple their size, and turn out a steady flow of PS1, PS2, and PS3 classic remakes.
Agreed. And they wouldn't need Konami itself. Just secure the IP or even just the gaming rights to those IP.
I don't know...after Crackdown, it's hard to get excited about Sumo personally. But I think they'd be great if MS ever got off its ass and made a cart-racer like Sonic Racing.
After yesterday, who knows though. TGS would make for an interesting time to announce something from Japan, but how long have we been looking for that to happen?
I don't know. Why spend 7.5 billion when you could spend a whole lot less on some kind of exclusive deal on stuff? Based on the net earnings I've seen floating around on Zenimax, they're looking at 15+ years to recoup the purchase price if they continue with business as usual.
Even if they just wanted to drive Gamepass numbers, they could sign a deal to deliver Fallout 5 or whatever on gp day one. Would be a lot cheaper.
You make a deal like ...
"Creating studios" isn't exactly easy though.
Nintendo has been cultivating its internal teams since the 80s. They're kind of the exception.
When Sony entered the market, they had to jump start that process and buy teams of their own. Something they continue to do.
MS did that a little, but lack of effort on their part over the years resulted in the abysmal 1st party we saw up until Spencer and Co. opened the wallet...
Regular ones are $59.99. Special editions get the $5 upcharge.
Same as this gen.
Same as DS4.
