I don't even mind that they're not remakes, but this is 100% a "Disney vault" market exploit thing here. I look at the PS collections or MCC and Rare Replay (where there's some, but limited upgrades put into nice affordable packages) and I just smh.
It would have taken little effort to just go ahead and put Galaxy 2 and 3D Land (3ds) in it. That's at least closer to the "3D Allstars" we'd expect.
3D World would ha...
Not all of us. I don't love them for it.
But I will be more pissed if I don't get this cart into the collection.
Which in turn, pisses me off all over again just thinking about it.
This is the cycle some of us are stuck in with the Nintendo nostalgia exploitation.
Agree. I wonder if they incorporate a store into PSNow on PC somehow?
You don't know how happy I'd be for a PS store and a Nintendo store on PC. I'll always love consoles, but having my favorites all in one place is the dream.
I fully agree. We're getting close, but it may still take awhile to get there.
I understand all of the reasons why exclusives are important to those ecosystems, but if the only reason to buy a $500 box is to play maybe 1% of all games on the market, shouldn't we be annoyed by that instead of celebrating it?
Haha, I always think the same thing. Have they seen what WB does to their games?
"What Marvels Spider-Man game was multiplatform?"
All of the prior Spiderman games released over the last couple decades except for 2018's were miltiplat.
They're sitting on a pile of cash with the the Drake collection and first TLOU.
TLOU2 gave the first title the last sales boost it will likely ever see again, so I say go for it on PC. And while we know Cory Barlog is on board with a GoW port, I think Sony hesitates there. They've absolutely got to be readying Dreams for PC though.
The one we can bank on may be their biggest ace in the hole, which is MLB. That thing will print money from sales a...
Well that isn't true either. Even the "we pull numbers from Pachter's ass" Vgchartz has PS4 at 6.5m v 4.9m X1. Weird way to say "basically doubled." But what's interesting is if you poke around and look at places like Mexico, Xbox actually leads by some amount.
Regardless, you're only reinforcing my point. They're on strong footing in the West, the UK, and in the south.
They also are facing strong competition in t...
Well that's not true. The West, UK, and South/Latin America oddly enough are on good footing.
Problem is they have strong competition in those regions, and are getting destroyed everywhere else.
At a certain point, I'd cut my losses and shift focus away from trying to directly compete in the console market in those places. Still offer your product, but invest more in selling PC games, GP, and xcloud where you may have a better ROI.
I agree with Darxyde. They should push xcloud and focus on backend deals with pubs and studios over there.
Partner with Sega on that cloud arcade initiative of theres. Sign the deal with Nintendo to use Azure. The Japanese console market can't be "won," but there is still plenty of opportunity for MS over there.
I'd also think forming a Japanese studio to focus on maybe a fighting game or two, or maybe some action titles, would be smart...
Been a little while since I used it, but check out Moonlight (if you have an Nvidia card and it still works).
I still have my launch (and stock) oled vita safely tucked away. But I grabbed a Japanese lite off of ebay fairly cheap a couple years back. Modded it pretty easily. Moonlight basically let you do remote play w/pc games.
That's the spirit!
Outside of Nintendo (sometimes), few launch with big titles. And even with Nintendo, it's not always cut and dry. We're 3+ years in, and Breath of the Wild is still the best game on Switch, imo. It's also a cross-gen title that may have paid dividends in attracting those who skipped Wii U, but for their base fans who stuck with them on Wii U, that lineup was weak.
People will always want to hype up the next gen out of general excitement. Back-compat and cro...
Sure. It's the only Xbox One model they're continuing to make. Think of the PS One, NES top loader, Genesis 3, SNES 2, etc.
Even PS3 super slim came only at the end of last gen.
I personally suspect a slimmed down One S is coming. Rumors are that the Series S is shaped similar to your typical, flat rectangular box.
It would make sense to redesign the One S into a smaller and possibly cheaper form, to help differentiate it from the Series S more.
Ahh yes, Days Gone. Where review copies were sent out pre-patch, contained game-breaking bugs that were fixed after many reviews were in, but it was all leftist agendas for scoring it harshly.
Then that same liberal media is forgiven when they're praised for fending off the right wing bigots who criticized TLOU2.
All pretty typical. I have a pretty good read on the room around here, but reaching to say that media sites would give MS an artificial bo...
Because Crytek has been struggling to just keep the lights on most of this gen.
Fully agreed. Watching Spiders grow in talent has been awesome to see. Larian and CDPR might not have the budget restrictions they used to have, but I'm very happy Obsidian and inxile can focus on doing what they do best.
If anything, it's impressive that it scored well DESPITE being affiliated with MS.
You might be the first person who I've seen try to insinuate that there is a MS "bump" like the Nintendo "bump."
But as a cRPG, this thing is best played on PC imo. Not sure where they're releasing physical PC versions though. I loved 2, and like what I'm hearing and seeing from 3. I'll use PC Gamepass for now to jump on this one.
You better be knocking on a lot of wood when you say that. Death Stranding and HZD may just be an anomaly, or they may be the start of something much bigger.
