Yeah, who wants a quality product for the $100 they spent on it?!

The One X launched during that period last year.

While youre back there, could you grab me a copy of those Vita numbers, too?

Might not be bad. There's pros and cons to Nintendo's directs.

If they're fully controlling and streamlining the presentation, I'd prefer we get deep looks into the info in those directs. Best example:Sony's 2018 E3 show would have worked better as a Direct imo. Sony's 2016 & 2017 E3s worked better as a conference/show imo.

But I will say that my hype and enthusiasm for the Directs is almost nonexistent at this point. Anymore,...

Yes, we all understand that Activision was too damn cheap to do the right thing here. God forbid they incur such a huge expense to deliver full, offline, SP games in one package.

Author makes this statement though: "I do not know the exact numbers but I have been told blu-ray prices aren’t low."

The prices are low enough to not be an excuse.

Stamping a second 50 gb disc in bulk would have added $1-$2 MAX to the costs.

@Ninver

Very true, but I don’t like the idea of any of the big 3 thinking its ok to take a break. I also wish all of them would give us a full roadmap of their next gen plans, but I get why they don't.

@rainslacker

I dont see it that way. There's just as many articles claiming its a good thing. Speculation is about all we have because Sony is being a bit coy about their full reasons for it ( which is actually exciting to me). ...

Im sure fanboys are going crazy as usual, but that doesn't mean there isn't something worth talking about. I've been a PS owner since 1996. My "issue" with it is 2 parts.

1. They didn't need to skip E3 when they launched PS2, PS3, or PS4. I agree that E3 is quite archaic and it's slowly dying, but most people believe that Sony is only taking a one year break. If so, than skipping it is just odd and seems based only on adjusting for it's sc...

Unfortunately for Xbox, they're in this weird middle ground. All of their positive moves gave them an OK generation. What gets lost is that it could have been so much worse, but that's not a good position to be in.

If they kept all of those 2013 policies, stuck with Kinect, stuck with having the more expensive yet less powerful console, they would have flopped with Wii U or Vita numbers.

By fixing that terrible start, and by slowing checking thos...

Lol.

Yes, it is 5 years old. But if you wanted to compare annual sales, you would have to compare SIX sets of annual sales figures starting with launch year.

This is PS/Xbox's sixth November.

I don't care about any of that crap. Sorry.

I was just pointing out that dismissing the adaptive controller as part of some flame war is a shitty way to look at things.

2623d ago 9 agree10 disagreeView comment

"Sony may not have the adaptive controller. But its fanbase world wide is much, much larger than Microsoft's. Sony doesn't have to look into new markets to sell software as much as Microsoft has to."

Ever think you're taking your console war too far? As the market leader and the maker of some of the best games on the planet, maybe we should try to encourage Sony to copy MS on this one, not come up with rationalizations as to why they financially don...

The top gaming company around just announced that they aren't attending the biggest games conference months in advance. Speculation is pointing toward a new console reveal.

Are you seriously saying this shouldn't be thoroughly discussed??

I expect those games to be the final big releases on PS4 and likely be playable on PS5 too, but my point is that if they showed "what's next" after those games, we'd be shown PS5 games.

Maybe they don't want to overshadow their last big PS4-selling games by doing that? I don't really know.

I can't imagine the next console not being BC with X1 though. With so much emphasis on BC this gen, I'm sure it will be.

2628d ago 0 agree1 disagreeView comment

It does make some sense in the context of the PS5 transition. They don't want to hinder PS4 and Pro sales, but it's clear that future titles past TLOU2 and Death Stranding will probably be PS5.

But even then, I wouldn't say it makes perfect sense. They could show off Dreams, Wild, TLOU MP, and more GoT, Death Stranding, PSVR, indies, 3rd party and still have a great show, and stay silent on PS5.

I feel like we're missing something here. Y...
