develop on ps3 (in my opinion) is they dont want to have to write any new code. they still hang on to their tired old source engine, and will put out as many diff iterations (portal, l4d, etc). until no oe buys it anymore. i dont mean this as a slight against their games, l4d is great fun, and half life is classic, but they do nothing to push industry forward. they write no new code, just touch up old stuff. ooohh scary ps3! heavenn forbid he has to do his job and touch a computer. half ...
how it stacks up to the difficulty of "the lost levels" cuz i used to lay awake at night in my bed begging god to make that snes cart manifest itself into flesh so i could strangle it to death.
yeah thats all i could think about when i read the comparison. this game looks awesome no matter what system you get it on. just when you get to the last boss, everyone make sure you have that screen space ambient occlusion leveled up all the way, i hear it makes the game super a awesome
they say the 360 has better bloom, but ps3 has better textures, and somehow 360 wins. i really dont care which one wins, and congrats on 360 owners for another win (what is that, like 26?) but i dont know about you guys, but you only notice bloom when your looking toward a light source, but textures cover just about everything in the game. it would look better until you swiveled the camera away from light source as you. . . you know. . . looked at the REST OF THE GAME.
but who cares. i have both systems, but ive only played ps3 demo, and i thought it was fantastic. i understand xbox version has prettier graphics, but why does that mean ps3 version sucks? if it plays anything like the demo, then it will be epic game. count another one sold on ps3.
if multiplats ever look better on the ps3. what attracts me to ps3 is the hardware. you guys can count pixels all day, but ill trade a few lines of resolution for bluetooth controllers, built in wifi, blu ray, web browser, etc. i play all multiplats on ps3, and i have enjoyed the majority of them despite better graphics on 360. just b/c 360 looks slightly better doesnt mean that ps3 multiplats look bad by any means. i play on 46" 1080p and ghost busters, call of juarez, bioshock, et...
its easy to compare graphical fidelity between the two systems b/c thats what our eyes immediatley see, but thats only a small part of a game. the only thing the 360 has proven it can do better than ps3 is displaying textures, but if people think that xenon can outperform cell in terms of AI or physics or anything in the back end of a game then they are mistaken. these are the ways i think xbox is holding gaming back. why develop intricate AI for seven synergistic processors on a multiplat...
but if firefight is anything like resistance's co-op, i'd pay 60 bucks for that alone
re4 isnt that old. . . .
even if you could pirate, say, MGS4, good luck finding a disc to put those 40 gigs on and even if you did, the disc would be 20 or 25 bucks.
i liked ps3 better, but people see what they want to see. if you think 360 looks better, just buy that one and be happy while you play it. either way, rocksteady did fantastic job
i was looking forward to zooming in on glass. . . lazy devs
(jk! rocksteady ftw!)
i have only been working here for about 3 years, so i dont know everything, but i wouldnt call what you're doing a rrod "fix" you can get in there and scrub off thermal paste, and change all the screws you want, but its not gonna fix the cause of the problem. it will continue to overheat and kill itself no matter how many times you try to fix it. we actually quit working on the 360 b/c almost all of the ones we fixed ended up coming back at some point. not even half of our fixes...
microsoft spend any money at all on testing a new machine when time and time again consumers have shown them that reliability is a non issue?
dude, i work at a used game shop, and we also do console repair, and 99.9 percent of the ps3 repairs we get are laser replacement, which parts and labor costs about 40 bucks and takes ten minutes. that is a far cry from rrod or e74 which is "total hardware malfunction" its like the difference between stubbing your toe and breaking your foot.
picked this up, and i guess if you play it alone it probably is worst game ths gen, but play it with a friend, and it becomes instant classic. the writing is so terribly bad, you cant help but laugh. its part of the game's charm. BOOOOOOOOOOSSSSSHHHHHHH!!!
is very real money, as evry pirated copy is a copy not sold. when you pirate, chances are you wanted to play it. i agree that most companies are already looking at the mmo business model, but losing profits is a good way to jump start something of that nature. especially when they are upkeeping servers for millions who never actually bought it
anyone thinking of pirating this game is only thinking in the short term, but what if, theorectically, activision sells 15 copies of MW2, but online, they have 50 people playing on their servers, they're gonna start trying to find ways to get $$$ from all the pirates which could lead to higher prices or even pay to play online. think about it, they could charge monthly fees so that even if you dl'ed the game, your still paying for it. it only took me five seconds to think that up, you dont ...
if you have any reservations about this game, go play FH/IP. if that game seems like a "snore fest" to you than go play halo. and also, whats wrong with qte? the kung fu scenes in farenheit where if you had full control, wouldve been reduced to spamming the same three hit combo over and over ad nauseum. i loved your previous work mr cage. . . count me in for anything else you ever make. bring on the qte's!
