ive logged 20 hrs into the demo, and at first i thought gameplay was innovative and awesome, but after i read how some people dont like it.. AKA "research" all the fun i had mustve been fake. /s
its not like GOW3 will break up with you if you play it. . . i think the demo was cool. sure it borrows quite a bit (well everything but art) but if it didnt, everyone would say how "this is better in gow" and "that is better in gow". this will fill the gap nicely between bayonetta and gow3
halo 3 looked good enough. its not like you guys were playing it on atari
i really hope japan keeps putting out original stories and ideas for games. games like quantum theory really make me sad. what couldve that team been working on instead? if i wanted gigantic necked space marines killing aliens from behind cover i'd buy, say, gears. which is a great game, but ive already played it. i'd take white knight and bayonetta over mw2 any day.
but why have to compare it to any other game? it seems alot of you would be happier if there wasnt ever any new ip's, and every action game was either dmc or gow
does anyone know msofts warranty policy in japan?
but as authentic a star wars experience as they tried to make, the lightsaber combat was horribly undercooked. enemies should not have a life bar when im slashing with a light saber. maybe they should make "the lightsaber unleashed" felt like i was bludgeoning stormtroopers with a giant carrot
you do know that in order to play ps2 games, the early 60 and 20 gig models had the gpu and cpu of the ps2 on the motherboard, right? manufacturing 10 year old components outside of normal ps2 development is costly. and if i had a choice between emulation and no bc, id choose none (see red dead revolver graphical glitches on 360, or kotor 2's framerate issues)
i have a 60g i bought when the machine came out, but i dont use the bc, let me tell you why. when you play ps2 on ps3, it does upconvert which is nice, but it signs you out of psn, locks you out of XMB while you play, can only save 8mb to every internal memory card among other things like turning off your controller when it switches over to ps2. its nice and convenient, but i think rerelease is a better option. you get better graphics, trophy support, i can actually be signed in while i pl...
and i give it a 100 out of 10
if you think of moving around in a 3d space, im not sure i understand how natal will handle this. think of gta (for example). running in place makes Nico run, but when you wanna turn, or look behind you, or turn down an alleyway quickly, how does that happen with no buttons? not being a smart@ss, just genuinely curious.
and i would buy it on ps3. shoddy port or not, id still buy it. ive seen more framerate problems on l4d2 than on orange box ps3. i used to hate on l4d, but it really is good fun. c'mon ea, port that junk. i dont care if its perfect, i just want to play it.
but why EA doesnt develop it. despite popular belief, orange box ps3 ran pretty decently, the visuals were great, only some framerate issues here and there (then again i only played through the game to completion, so im not as much of an expert as some of these people who never played it). but if EA has Source up and running, with a little optimization, im sure most of the leg work has been done
calling the game "two worlds 2" even if they were making it a direct sequel, i would've come up with some new name for it and distance it from the turd that was the first game.
are doody heads. people who play psn that might pay for it eventually ruin my gaming experience. i sit at home and play games to chill out, but i get so mad when i think of all the people who are PAYING for gameplay online that i grit my teeth and shake my fists at god (just so he'll know i'm serious). i cant believe that other people whom i've never met are trying to pay for online services on their console of choice. if i knew their addresses i'd call social services
but i prefer single player games. doesnt mean that i dont enjoy playing online with my buds, but the ratio is like 75/25 in favor of single player. thats the beauty of psn in my opinion, is i can jump online with friends and play when i feel like it at no extra cost. the features of xblive are awesome, no doubt, but i dont play online enough to justify the price tag. kinda throws the whole xbl>psn arguement right out the window for me. i dont need my friends to validate my gaming expe...
i think it'll be better as a linear game as opposed to open world. more focus on story.
i really enjoyed ninja blade. i held off buying it for a while cuz everyone was joking the qte's but it ended up being really solid.
but with the type of game heavy rain seems to be, like with farenheit, the qte's work. id rather have epic qte sequences rather than lackluster fighting engine. yakuza's engine works beautifully, but theres a huge difference between kazuma-san, and what you become in farenheit
EDIT: what it comes down to, is heavy rain is not a brawler, or rpg, or racing game, or any of those. it is a story driven adventure game. if i want to shoot stuff, i know the games i can go to for that, and...
this game looks awesome. it'll be good to play another SC, but if anyone can clarify for me, i saw some footage of them "marking" dudes to clear a room or something. . . after you "mark" them, are the kills automated, or do you aim and shoot yourself?
