How exactly is it outdated? Turn-based is just one of the kinds of battle system an RPG can use. Not all games need to be turn based but not all games need to be action oriented either. Both have their own merits and fans.
I just feel that action battle systems are less deep and strategic. There are some great action RPGs like Star Ocean, Tales, Secret of Mana, Vagrant Story but have you noticed that THE BEST and legendary ones are turn-based? For example, FF3, FF7, Chrono Trigger and Xenogears. FF15 does not needs to be turn-based but I would not want it to become Devil May Cry either.
I never said I hate it. I just dislike it. I am allowed have a preference, dont I? I have played both turn-based and action oriented RPGs over the decades but I feel that action oriented battle systems often devolve into button mashing. They are just limited in strategy and depth except for in the case of the Souls series ofcourse.

They do not need to make it F2P. F2P games often suck more money out of you in the end as compared to paying a fixed amount. However, reducing the subscription fee a little might be a good idea. Right now the a year's worth of subscription fee is equal to two or three full priced PS4 titles. That is a very discouraging fact for many gamers.
What are you talking about? The Vita is on the top followed by the PS4. The 3DS is on the 3rd spot. Take a closer look on the chart.

It is just an online MMORPG, not a proper offline JRPG AND it requires a subscription. A years worth of subscription is equal to two or three full priced PS4 titles. As a result, a lot of people are reluctant to buy it. I know I am for one. There is a proverb in my country which says that,
"Buying an elephant is not as difficult as feeding it."
The same goes for FF14 because of its subscription based mode of payment. Thus, there is no impact on sale...

There is a really long list of technological and scientific predictions and promises that never turned out to be true. Isnt that the very definition of hype dying down? After the release there are many things to talk about if the game is a success. Like the sales figures, the number of people playing it and the number of consoles it moved. You can even observe it in the social media and on forums. Gamers everywhere are talking about it, discussing its systems and urging others to play it.

If they have patented it then they must believe it to be something special and do not want it to be copied by anybody else. I just hope that the battle system has depth and strategy. I do not quite like the KH battle system which is basically mash x until the enemy dies with an occasional press square to dodge or press triangle for a special action.

That is why I said "often". The souls series is one such exception where real time battle system is excellent.
Well, to be honest, yeah they are the best because of their stories, characters and the worlds they presented but great gameplay is also important for a game and creating memorable battles. :-) In the end, everybody has his own tastes. Some value story over gameplay, some value gameplay over story. I prefer a balance of both and a pure real time battle system just does not appeals to me much.
