I agree with you. That is what you get SE for shoving FFXIII and Lighting down our throats this whole generation! Where is the innovation, spark, creativity and excellence of the Squaresoft era? I am still waiting for a Vagrant Story, Chrono Cross and Xenogears sequel after more than a decade. Many others have been asking and waiting for a FF7 remake this whole gen but SE is blind and deaf to the consumer's demands.

The concept of next-gen is not as complicated as you guys have made it out to be. A console is not compared only to its predecessor but also competitors. Wii U fans have created there own definition of next-gen, just to keep themselves happy. For decades, next-gen has meant more RAM, better CPU and better GPU. I do not fancy the Wii U but a console being best or better is a matter of personal choice. If your favourite games are present on a certain console then it is the best one for you. Nintendo fans buy Nintendo consoles for the Nintendo first party games alone so for them Wii U is the best console. For others it may be not.

Well, sales mean success and success means more developer support. Poor sales mean failure, less support by developers and less games to play. The state of the Wii U developer support and game drought is a proof of the significance of sales. Similarly performance of the competitor's console can mean success or failure of your console so you have to monitor that as well. That is why informed gamers care about sales.
