BF4 PS4 = 1600x900 = 1,440,000 pixels
BF4 Xbone = 1280x720 = 921,600 pixels
You have a 56.25% improvement right there. Moreover, PS4 version has better anti-aliasing, ambient occlusion and better textures. That adds up to much more than 50% improvement over Xbone version. Enough with the denial and just accept the truth.
In my country a 10 Mbps connection is worth $100 a month WITH a data limit. Just four months of internet is equal to the price of PS4. Moreover, it relies on copper telephone landline cables which are very unreliable. The speed is very inconsistent, latency is high and a little bit of heavy rain can kill the phone. Can YOU pay $1200 annually just for a shoddy internet connection? Not all of us have been lucky enough to be born in wealthy first world countries and never realize the problems o...
I wish this game had a robust single player campaign. It is looking awesome but the online-only part puts me off. I do not have a good internet connection to play online. Moreover, I prefer my games with story, music, characters and gameplay with meaningful objectives instead of just aimless gameplay with superficial objectives.
I want stylish and powerful dual wielding! KH2 had dual wielding but only during drive forms. This time it should be usable normally. Although they can make it powerful and secret or hard to obtain so that it is a highly sought after ability. Something like Kirito's dual wielding in Sword Art Online would awesome! :D
What do you mean by "disposable income" in terms of a company? That is a consumer related concept and is not applicable for a corporation. IF you mean the "cash at hand" part of the balance sheet then Nintendo has $4.5 billion at the moment that will be spent throughout the year on routine expenses. Nintendo's annual expenses during the last fiscal year were $3.47 billion which means they only have a little more than $1 billion of free cash and corporations burn throug...
@mcstorm
I agree and disagree with you at the same time. I agree that first party games play a major role in people's decision regarding what platform they will buy but I disagree that third party do not play any role at all. Third party games help eliminate the droughts between first party releases. People do not buy consoles that only have third party games but people also do not buy consoles that only have first party games. Fans who love Nintendo first party games eno...
@Rhaigun
The lack of games is because of the console. IF the Wii U was powerful on a PS4/Xbone level and traditional (no tablet) then it would also have been getting all the multiplatform games. As a result, Wii U would not have been starving for games and selling so poorly. A first party cannot possibly release games continuously throughout the lifespan of a console. Third party is essential for backup and mass success.
I agree. I do not think Xbone owners will buy it anyway. They prefer Forza, Gears, Titanfall and Halo; basically multiplayer games. JRPGs do very poorly on Xbox. Just look at the sales ratio of FFXIII-2 on Xbox360 and PS3. I thought that would be a good lesson for SquareEnix but I guess they are too greedy to give up a few hundred thousand sales for the sake of quality and focus.
It is just a matter of taste. Taste decides which platform is the best for a certain person and people buy accordingly. I cannot get MGS, Final Fantasy, Uncharted, Tales of series, Ni no kuni and many others on a PC so a gaming PC is useless for me even if it produces the best graphics in the world. I have to buy a Playstation console for those games. If those games were on the PC then I would have bought a PC instead of PS.
I agree. PC fans rarely consider the differences between consoles and PCs before claiming PC superiority. New and better PC hardware is released throughout the year while new consoles are released 4 to 6 years later. Console manufacturers have to ensure that the console is affordable for the masses and design them accordingly. On the other hand, PC hardware manufacturers can just release a variety of hardware that caters to all the demographics ranging from budget to enthusiast. IMO consoles ...
MH4 still dominating the charts. Sen no kiseki still up in the charts after a big drop in second week. Wind Waker HD dropped 79% to just 6210 units sold with total sales of just 36,474 as it fell to the 10th spot. Time and time again it is proven that sales always drop in the second week. Yet fans cling on to hope that it will somehow pick up when the title will get a full week of sale in the second week.
Forza 5 gets all those criticisms because Forza fans always tout the 1080p and 60FPS performance of the game without considering how it was achieved. Forza made a lot of next-gen technological sacrifices in order to keep the GPU and CPU load low and achieve their resolution and frame-rate goals. IF they had employed all of the often pointed out graphical technologies (like dynamic lighting, global illumination, real-time damage & physics etc.), they would never have been able to make the ...

The PS3 had sold about 9.1 million units in its first year from mid-November 2006 launch till December 2007, despite being sold for $600 and later $500. The PS3 was also receiving all the third party support along with a few exclusives. How is that a failure? In comparison the Wii U has not even crossed 4 million in its first year on the market despite being sold for just $350. Moreover, the Wii U has only sold 1.29 million units since January 2013 until now. The PS3 was not performing as bad...
I am glad people have wisened up to CAPCOM's greed and exploitation. I still cant believe how CAPCOM fooled people in to buying multiple versions of SFIV in millions along with the DLCs. Even after all those editions we are still getting the ultimate edition of SFIV.
Actually, all of those games bombed. That is why CAPCOM is laying off staff in NA and EU. They are just reaping what they sowed. They did not want to listen what fans wanted and drove one franchise after another in to the ground. Now they are paying for it. People are tired of CAPCOM, their nickle & diming DLCs, their westernisation of Japanese games and their multiple versions of a single game.
1080p and 60 FPS are not proof of a console power. They can be achieved on even PS360 IF sufficient trade-offs are made. People need to understand that 1080p and 60 FPS does not needs power as much as it needs willingness to trade off visual fidelity on the developer's part. Even several PS2 games run at 60 FPS; does that makes PS2 more powerful than the PS4 and Xbone?
The basic rule is that when you "up" the graphics and native resolution, the frame rate falls. In order...
But what if it does....
Blackberry and their fans never thought it would happen to them, Nokia and its fans never thought it would happen to them, Sega and its fans never thought it would happen to them, Kodak and its supporters never thought it would happen to them, Symbian and its fans never thought it would happen to them and many other such companies. Fans never want to see the signs or admit it until it happens and they are left speechless.
I am not sayi...
They were using PCs with much higher specs and different hardware (Nvidia GPUs) than the actual console to make the games run and look better than they actually would be. That is what all the fuss has been about. Have you noticed how all the Xbone games are being downgraded or "balanced" as the console launch draws near?
Xbone: Prepare for deception
That only happens in a story because the competitors will not fall asleep midway like the rabbit. At the current rate of selling 460,000 in 6 months they will sell 4.6 million units in the next 5 years. Normally consoles sell 8 to 11 million in 1 year alone. That does not counts as winning in any way.
