Both consoles are starting at an equal footing right now. There is no doubt that Xbone will improve over the years but so will the PS4. It is just like two brothers ageing together. I am not saying the PS3 is dying or anything. I just meant that it is the twilight years for PS3 now. There are still a lot of games coming for it and I am going to be playing my ps3 for at least next 2 years before I buy a PS4

I do not think the PS3/3DS and Wii U scenario are similar. First of the all the PS3 sold 9.1 million in its first year at $600/$500 price tag even without games while the Wii U has only sold 3.91 million, so it was never performing as bad as the Wii U to begin with.
