But I agree...
Just because it's cheaper and more popular doesn't they should screw us over when it comes to online experience. Who gives a crap about the graphics - but it really does make a difference in gameplay experience when we can't do what we want online, like CHAT!
Well, at least Sony is trying to reinvent their control pad finally after having the exactly (or almost) controller for all 3 playstations.
That's just silly calling the site "malware" just because it isn't a trustworthy source for console sale numbers.
Are they nuts? If they place a ban on electronics, the economy will collapse and there will be a huge public breakout.
Hello? What do you think people are living on? Who doesn't want a computer, LCD/Plasma TV? Banning them is like exiling half of the population. Pure nonsense!
Well, even if it other companies distributing BD movies on HD-DVD, they need a license and the actual movie, which they have to get from the studio that made them, right?
So in other words, the releases aren't BD exclusive. It just means that the studios who made them aren't publishing them on HD-DVD, instead relying on 3rd party companies to do it for them (probably collecting royalties on them too).
Since when did exclusive lose its meaning?
There seems much more going ...
Point for Kaz!
Now if just the price would come down a little as it's far too steep...
I couldn't agree more.
I'm disgusted that anyone would do such a thing, not to mention a Sony employee.
Wow... truly wow...
That is the worst and most retarded comment I've heard any rep say.
It's a GOOD thing it's hard to develop for? Since when is that good?
Hey, would you rather spend $20 million or $10 million on developing a game, same length, same graphical quality? And would you rather wait 5 years for the full power of the console to be utilized rather than 1 year?
tk: Even if it's just a temporary overheating or fault, it's still a hardware issue which should not happen. It may indicate that some of the fault is hysteria, but nevertheless...
You buy a console for its advantages mostly...
Much lower price than a PC (remember, you have to hand out around $1000 to get a good gaming PC).
Smoother games (all games usually run in 30 or 60 fps or so).
No complexity. No changing graphics settings to turn up the framerate or troubleshoot why a game crashes.
No need to upgrade in 5 years.
I could continue to upgrade my PC, but ah, how much would it cost? And what do I get for it? My original comme...
Vista uses a lot of memory for caching things (to make things faster!). However, should applications need that memory, Vista will part for it, for the applications' sake. Bloat perhaps, but not too much in the memory department as you suggest.
Leshin: Why do I like HD-DVD?
Cheaper. Less DRM (if only slightly; but it's been cracked already anyway, so...). Not backed by Sony, the evil company, and their proprietary (and failed!) formats.
Disclaimer: This is all in my opinion. I am not an employee of Sony or any other company that do not like Sony. This is my own opinion, what I think, and may not necessarily be true. However, everyone is entitled to an opinion.
Compress the audio (don't use lossless or uncompressed!), and then use... oh, how about 2-3 DVD-9? 9+9+9=27 (or 9+9=18). So there you have it. Even less than FF9 back in those days.
They're lazy and unwilling--that's all. It's certainly possible to fit it on DVDs. And 15 hours is laughable for game length. Especially considering the time it's been in development.
Let's see Sony release their movies on a competing format and not their own proprietary format! Let's see that day come! And then, Sony, you will rue the day your introduced Blu-ray!
...Well, at least I hope such a day arrives.
Does it restrict you to use your favorite applications and force you to reboot if you run them once? Yes.
Once such harmless application? Name: Process Explorer.
It's nice, sure... but I wouldn't call it 4D. Where's the fourth dimension? Time is not a dimension; it is more of a factor in the game. It's not an axis where you specify coordinates. It's just a marketing scheme, really, if you ask me...
Well, I for one won't be sad to see it go...
Browsing was made for PCs - they do not look right on anything with smaller screens (and the TV is no exception!).
Browsing the web should never have made it to consoles, handhelds and phones if you ask me... sigh...
Regardless if TPB is illegal or not, last I checked, it's illegal or bad to execute such attacks even against illegal sites. It's illegal or bad to do it in the first place.
And hey, maybe those companies can get a bitter taste when they, for the first time, are sued instead of the other way around. They're not invincible and can't do as they please.
