OK, seriously now. Where did you get all that misinformation?
Specs: Yes, true. But then again, what do we get from those bigger specs? Better audio? We can't really discern much from lossless/lossy, so no biggie there. Video? Bitrates isn't everything, so there's not much there either. Space? 50 GB is quite enough for a movie. And HD-DVD's theoretical max is about 150 GB.
Available titles: Don't know 100% for sure.
Price: HD-DVD > BR. Why do BR have a better price? Mo...

Video and quality is the same. If they're not, then it's the fault of the movie studios for not compressing it properly.
1) Huh... still, this is NOT a format limitation! This is the fault of the compressors of the movie, who can't do it right.
2) Untrue. There is little to no difference between lossless and lossy audio that the human ear can detect. Who is to say that HD-DVD can't do the same? I haven't looked at specs for such surround, but I don't see why not.
3) I don...

It's so sad. Every day you read comments on articles like these (which I think was really good, btw), I have to hand out more "shut user up" then "let user speak."
What is also so sad is those who have clouded judgments. Why is BD going to win? Look here. Before PS3 came out, HD-DVD was doing circles around BD, and everyone thought HD-DVD would win. Now it's turned around again, so who is to say BD will win? I will certainly n not. The format war isn't over yet and ...

Doesn't seem to me like that kind of hardware. Obviously rushed, overpriced prepherials, and so on. I have a feeling Microsoft is (quietly) working on Xbox 360 2.0 (otherwise known as Xbox 720) and will discontinue the 360 once they're finished with 720.

If they can't release something that brings new innovation, why release a new system at all? It's best to wait until they can actually bring out some new entertainment with a new console, and if that means we must wait more than 4 years (or shorter), then so be it.

Doesn't justify it, though.

Another reason not to buy games that uses Steam. Screw you, idiots.

Definetly not OK! Especially considering that I don't want Blu-ray and I want BC.
Meh. No, it's not enough, but it's getting there...

It's wrong, true, but what does DRM do, really? It cuts down on our fair use and hurts only legitimate buyers. It doesn't prevent piracy and so a lot of money goes down the drain.
If you purchase a game or software that can ONLY run on the first computer installed (and won't run if hardware changes/windows is reinstalled), would you buy that game or download it/strip of the DRM?
That's my point--because that's where DRM is headed.

Let's argue some more!
I am pretty convinced that neither Blu-ray nor HD-DVD will win seeing as it swings around all the time. Blu-ray is still very expensive to produce, many studios are releasing on HD-DVD (including big studios that are exclusive to Blu-ray!) and it's still the leading format in Europe. I've seen things go to HD-DVD's favour and some for Blu-ray's favour. And if Blu-ray got this far simply by selling more players, wouldn't the same hold true for HD-DVD? Even if Blu-...

For someone with such a lot of bubbles, I would think you would do a better reply.
The point is to imbed a drive so that consumer does not need to purchase an external one to see HD-DVD movies AND to increase the actual amount of HD-DVD players out there. Plus, I do believe (as Microsoft has proved so far), that it will be a SKU by itself, so you can choose to buy it or not. Completely up to you. And I believe it would be much cheaper than Elite + HD-DVD add-on because Microsoft over-c...

Agreed. The reason Sony would be selling this is because it's their own fault. They made an expensive machine that simply didn't sell well. The revolution / X360 has nothing to do with this fact.

I sincerely disagree. I'd maybe give it a 6 or 7, but never a 9. The stylus controls are cool, but they fail miserably when you most need them.

Eat THAT you mean DRM companies! Bee-da!

6674d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

That IS the thing. We've come all the way down to $400, which is much less than $600, but we're shunned of the BC compability which we all want! Why do we have to pay $600 for BC? $600 may just be too much. Heck, it IS too much! And there ARE must-have games for the PS2, isn't there?
And Sony could just put in emulation, could they not? Even the emulation that still exists... but no, no such luxury for us - even if the new SKU COULD do it.

As I keep implying (and as many...

I find this stupid. The worst of it all is that Sony seems to be spawning lots of SKUs of the PS3 with not so much as a name change to indicate WHAT SKU it is. 20 GB, 40 GB, 60 GB, 80 GB... why can't they just have the same models in ALL countries and give them proper names like the 360? At this rate, it IS getting confusing.
And say what you will, removing BC and discontinuing the BC SKU is just plain evil. BC is a good thing, as I shall tell you why I think so.
Considering the...

What's wrong with games? Fantasy games/RPGs can spark much more creativity and inspiration that dolls can. There's nothing wrong with it. The girl is not a psychopath and not a murdered so obviously it hasn't had much of a negative effect on her.
I think it's great that even one young such as she can enjoy video games.

The only problem is that all companies who grows big and mighty and leads the industry, heck in any area (just look at Microsoft!) gets arrogant and becomes a bully.
And Nintendo certainly didn't set gaming back. It's because they took it a step forward that they succeeded. When you're the underdog, you have to be clever and do something new to get back on top.
And Sony did not shape the market. They simply did what Nintendo was doing - they released consoles with more horsepowe...
