All that reading and caching will eventually kill it. Not too mention the less space you have it gets drastically slower.

a 160GB SSD with a ps4 would go around $600 and 160gb is nothing in terms of space and how much reserved space the PS4 uses.

PSNow is crap, no argument there.
Actually they started early last year. The character models they're using is from advent children, so that cuts some significant time.
Many are freaking out over the time it's going to take getting released because of FF15 and last guardian.
But FF15 was delayed solely because they didn't have the ressources to do what they wanted so they instead dropped everything and worked on the ps4.

I'd take a new chrono trigger game or remake or even FF6 than FF7.
30-40 seconds is actually very long. You have to consider that loading times should be practically non-existent with modern technology.
All that loading adds up to a very large amount of downtime. Some people have things to do with their lives other than constantly wait on 40 second load times.
Even the original playstation which had a very slow read speed, managed to have decent loading times for it's time.

SSD on the PS4 is a mistake. An SSD has a limited of writes before it starts failing. The PS4 caches a lot of things to the Hard drive. (which is considered reading and writing)
As fast as SSD is, it's not meant for constant writing, better backup everything on the external every so often.

Look at GTA IV with Icenhancer.
GTA V is also a last gen game cleaned up. Of course it's comparable to a high end PC.
GTA VI on the other hand will show you a massive difference. Same as witcher 3.
Some of you are incredibly ignorant about how the ps4 works.
The PS4 cannot run unsigned code, It only runs signed code and authenticated from Sony. If someone were to add something in the firmware, the firmware would need to be resigned in order for the ps4 to run it.
For the ps4 to run unsigned code your ps4 would need to be hacked and no hack for the ps4 currently exists.
So to the ones worried that this will screw up their PS4, remember.....

DX12 will be a factor wth old games as well. It's much more efficient with how it handles graphics as well as the new tech which newer graphics cards will take advantage of.
DX12 will have an immediate impact, regardless whether a game is built for it or not.
