NMH is suda's most successful game ever, earned a sequel, and the sales made some of the staff weep with joy. You know that games like that don't need to sell millions to make back their money?
Zack and Wiki is a point and click adventure that while good fails compared to the hilarity that are the Strong Bad games. Also it's got a shirtless boy pirate on the cover and until I found out about it was indistinguishable from shovelware.
I never understand how HD gamers are elitist toward people who like the wii. Everything they bash the wii for a PC gamer can bash a HD console for - particularly graphics and controls. Also, most games are really gutted for consoles and don't support mods or nearly the same extent of customization.

Maybe not as its own game, but when you ignore the deep character personalization, double/triple techs, eliminate the entire significance of the first game with the character's fates and then call it a sequel it is. That's begging for a comparison to a game that murders it on every account.
The writing is also horrendously abstract and faux philosophical in an attempt to appear deep and meaningful.
Disregarding the rest of your horribly reasoned argument, did you just call Pokemon casual? The game that people spend hundreds and hundreds of hours on trying to catch them all in one of many titles? I haven't bought pokemon because I don't have the time to play it if I want to enjoy any other video games!
Most have forgotten that fun is what matters.

Crystal Chronicles dumped them for Nintendo, Nintendo left them for a rich older woman, and FFXIII demanded an open relationship. But it's ok because they swear Mass Effect was flirting at the register.
In all fairness crazy exs usually drop the bitterness sooner.
Whenever I hear FF: Crystal Chronicles I think FF: Mystic Quest. The building games were very fun but honestly I can't shake the idea that these are third-rate efforts with different or dumbed down gameplay and the final fantasy name attached for sales. Like we're morons who can't tell these aren't true final fantasy games.

The game went from a handful of well defined characters all with their own themes to a bloat of 40 unrecognizable characters that totally eviscerated dual and triple techs, part of the huge appeal of the first. All while pissing on the memory of Chrono and the first game (what happened to the original characters). And adding clunky, esoteric language from NPCs that don't act like people so much as oracles from the gods.

Thanks for the advice, I think I'll do that. I like when my arguments end like this. You make points I certainly agree with, including the ps3 being the most powerful of the new consoles. Whether that matters to people is where I think the break in the argument comes. And I can respect your opinion (particularly considering a hacked ps3 means I might get linux on my slim with full access to the GPU and the cell interests me as a programmer).

Generation is a term of lineal succession. The next gen comes after the previous. This is like saying that when SNES was out it wasn't a next gen console cause 3DO or Jaguar had way more processing power. What ever happened to those systems, anyways?

Apparently when you tell a niche market to eat poo you get 20 million sellers. Nintendogs again proves most people would rather play updated Dogz than tedious hardcore games designed to suck the life out of you.
None of those games approached the budget or developer quality of any AAA title on another system. If you give consumers low-grade crap they will not buy it in the same numbers as a highly polished title.
