A friend and I started playing CE after beating Reach and it's still a very good game. Though, if they remake it I hope they make use of the new hardware and make areas more populated, compared to Reach the levels (especially the first level) felt pretty barren.
I just laughed so hard at that comment that I shot Red Bull out my nose...
Both Final Fantasy Agito XIII and Lord of Arcana by Square Enix come off as similar games to Monster Hunter. Lord of Arcana seems like a blatant rip-off (like God Eater) while Agito's gameplay looks like it's a thinking man's Phantasy Star.
Monster Hunter Freedom Unite is one of the greatest games I've played on a portable. Higher rank missions make Demon Souls difficulty/frustration look like a walk in a park though.
MH + Ad Hoc Party + Mics= A great day.
Still waiting on a PS3 Monster Hunter, without weapon types removed *glares at 3*
I'm a huge RPG fanboy, but after MGS4 I've been hard pressed to find a more emotionally engaging game. Hell, I was much more sad during Naomi's death than during Aeris's death. Of course, Porom and Palom turning themselves to stone was a sadder moment than Aeris's death...hell, the main character of Persona 3 "dying" was a sadder moment than Aeris's death...why do people like VII so much again?
I hate how these Call of Duty games get pretty much a free pass rating wise for only small improvements (debatable seeings how MW2's multiplayer is a bit of a clusterfuck). I mean, COD:MW is a great game, but by the standards these magazines seem to have then every Madden or Guitar Hero sequel should be getting 9's as well.
This game has incorporated tons of features not in other games, looks to be the best looking game ever seen on a console as well as the most accurate Driving Simulator on a console.
If I remember correctly the game didn't even originally have Damage, and was added to please the fans, which was a selfless act by the devs to please the community they care about.
Yet even with all these offerings some magazine is going see something stupid like less than perfect damage or hit...
They've remade Final Fantasy IV once for the GBA and once for the DS as well as made Final Fantasy IV: The After Years for the Wii...
I'd like a proper remake/sequel though, After Years was horrible, and although the GBA version was solid the DS version used those horrible 3D DS graphics that make characters look like they're from Snowboard Kids 2 on the N64.
Seriously though Final Fantasy and Metal Gear Solid HD remakes...
Now I have a boner at school :(
Loved it, mostly because every character had their own playstyle. If Square-Enix can add new characters while having them still play unique I'll buy this day one. but if it ends up like Brawl where characters start sharing moves I'll pass.
Hope they find a way to fix Ex-Death so he can be used in tournament play. And hope they don't go screwing with the game by adding new moves or changing move attributes (Jecht Block priority, etc), if they touch Jecht I'll be pissed....
But thinking of the looks of disappointment on the thousands of young core gamers' faces as they unwrap their presents on Christmas and find Kinect instead of a game they want puts a smile on my face.
Jimmy: "Mom! I wanted Halo: Reach, I was going to play it over the vacation with my friends..."
Mom: "But Jimmy, this is going to be the future of gaming! Oprah said so!"
I want them to spend time looking into the maps and such.
Honestly the SVER domination (as in conquering, not the game mode) in this game is disturbing.
I know a lot of people say it's the players not the maps, but the actual chance that so many skilled players are on one faction as opposed to all the others is so improbable it's not even funny. I mean, they already hold almost all the contracts.
Honestly on RAVEN it seems like we only win about 20% of our game...
Do want. This game is so underrated it's almost criminal.
Seriously it's been over 7 years and I still remember going to grab games like Ratchet and Clank and Kingdom Hearts.
Also, so glad Dark Cloud 2 and Rogue Galaxy made the list, as far as action RPGs go I felt those games were much better than the Kingdom Hearts games, but didn't receive the recognition.
I feel that the PS2 may have be the last great platform for JRPGs...
People are dropping way too fast for body shots. Even if they're using the scope. We have enough Pray and Spray shooters out there, give me a game where you need skill to get kills...
Swear to god if Konami would fix Metal Gear Online's servers and stupid Konami ID system it would be my favorite game...
I hope they fix it. If I remember in Killzone 2 you could only mark enemies visible on your screen in this it looks like it's scanning within a certain distance.
Also, it lasts WAYYY too long. A skill that useful should only be in effect for a few seconds, otherwise people will just camp walls waiting for enemies to walk by.
I'm hoping a lot of those enemies had low health, because if people can get one shot kills from body shots with the sniper rifle that's bullshit.
I was going through elementary school from 95 to 2001, so I missed most of the great RPG titles back then. Vagrant Story needs a NA PSN release asap as well as Xenogears.
I'd like to see a re-release of FF:Anthologies and Legends, as well as The Legend of Dragoon...oh and Lunar Silver Star Story Complete and Lunar 2 Eternal Blue Complete.
I'll be sure to pick up up soon. The soundtrack alone in Guilty Gear was enough to keep me entertained, and from what I've heard from BlazBlue I can expect the same high quality tracks.
I'm expecting to see a new CoD every few months now.
With Modern Warfare 2 coming out less than a year ago and this game STILL being as lucrative as it is; I can see a new Call of Duty coming out in the next 7 months.
