Complete Bullshit. If Sony is leading the pack and outselling it's closest rival M$ 2:5 to 1, then you know that it is succeeding despite not having cross-platform play. Sony doesn't need cross platform, backwards compatibility or PSNow to dominate. Sony is dominating without all those things, and that won't change next gen. They'll go in with a killer line up of exclusives that the established user base will be queuing up for. Heck between God of War 2 and Spider man 2, they&...
I noticed this as well. I think they must've fired the marketing team, because the communication has been much better.
I know, I know the article is talking about where the story goes next.
For my two cents I think it'll be the story of green goblin and the rise of the symbiotes.
Where does Marvel's Spider-man go from here?
Simple - Marvel's Spider-man 2
Where else would it go?
Well that's disappointing to hear, but I guess more time recording new gamplay is less time working on the game.
Hope we get some new gamplay footage. I can't wait to know more about this game, cos at the moment it seems so obscure.
Can we get some more info on TLOU2 please?
Well, the comparisons will come - no doubt. It's a good job Days Gone releases in February 2019, while WWZ doesn't even have a release date yet - if not we'd not hear the end of the Days Gone copied WWZ" comments. At least Days Gone gas a dynamic story. Fair enough it's not co-op multiplayer, but tbh I'll always take a good AAA story based game over online only co-op multiplayer. Anyday all day.
I agree about the release date. I think Sony should move it out of February to give it its own breathing space. They should learn from Tomb Raider - a good game completely overshadowed by competing bigger games in the same month. I think Sony should push the release date to March.
Exactly this. Insomnia/Sony/Marvel will want to capitalise on the success of Spider-Man going forward; so it's likely that other Insomniac projects will take a back seat.
Don't forget that we still have PSX in December, I'm sure we'll see more story based stuff then. But even so, I don't like it when we know everything about the game before it ships. For example, Marvel's Spider-man - I wish they hadn't shown anything about the sinister six before the game launched. They should have only shown Martin Lee aka Mr Negative, and the inner demons. If you've played the game you'll understand why. So I really don't mind if Sony Ben...
Ok firstly, this Gen is not over yet, we still have Ghost of Tsushima, Death Stranding, Days Gone, The Last of Us 2, Dreams etc etc etc So yeah big smiles all round -but why?
Because "long live single player games!!!" Yep, they're all big budget single player games. And while they may not all achieve the same sales momentum as Spider-man, it's a testament to Sony that they still believe and invest in quality singleplayer experiences.
So ...
*ding* - Platinum Trophy unlocked.
Basically, it's safe to say that Spider-man has, and will eclipse God of War going forward.
Exactly. This was what impressed me the most actually. It means that Marvel will be very comfortable going forward with Sony, at least when it comes to the Spiderman IP. No doubt they will be keeping a close eye on what SqEnix do with the avengers IP, but I'm willing to bet that that game won't be able to match Spiderman's day 1 or lifetime sales.
In any case, this pretty much seals a Spiderman Sequel.
No shame man, some times you just have to save up. I have to constantly trade old games to buy new ones. I remember when I got my PS4, I had to trade in my PS3 and all my games to get enough for just over about half the price of a PS4 lol.
I don't think there was any doubt that Sony Bend were going to use the extra time to polish the game. I'm sure they'll also use the remaining 4 months to make sure it's as good as they can make it before it finally drops. I think the success of God of War and Spiderman has raised the standard, and Sony Bend won't wan to be the ones that break that chain.
Horizon 2?
;)
I don't think anyone really believes that exclusives don't matter. Microsoft have acknowledged the fact that the lack of exclusives has seriously hurt them this gen, and they are investing heavily in new studios. Therefore going into next gen, exclusives will matter just as much - if not more than in this gen.
Batman was awesome. Shame, I would have wished for a sequel to Enemy Within.
