I think this means the game is about to go Gold. I can't wait to see how it turns out, I'm in two minds about how it will be received, I mean it's the first time he has been allowed to go full-on super Kojima-mode. I mean he even admits that both the cast as well as his dev team were completely baffled by the whole concept of the game, why would he expect he fans to be any different. Anyway, I hope I'm wrong and it turns out to be another magnum opus. But we'll see, only 8...
So I'm guessing Dinah dies, and Ellie goes on a rampage of revenge. In the process she discovers that her mother is actually still alive, and Joel come clean that he lied to her. Actually scrap that last part, I don't think Joel would ever come clean about that, it's just way too far gone now.
*sigh* I cant wait for this game...
C'mon guys give credit where credit is due - by all accounts Gears 5 is a great game. Anyway, this is nothing new, Playstation exclusives have always surpassed above MS exclusives. But yeah it's good to see that Playstation have successfully curated their exclusives to the point where games like TLoU2 are ranked among other industry juggernauts, and command the same media feeding frenzy that was once reserved for the likes of GTA.
Yeah I don't get what he means by 'stand games'. By all his descriptions it seems that what he's trying to achieve has already been done with the soulsbourne games. I hope it involves something more revolutionary than leaving 'likes' next to a ladder.
Yup. What a happy "coincidence". My guess is that it'll be a multiplayer trailer announcing an upcoming beta... well I hope it is at least :)
I agree with the article, but I think the one thing God of War did very well that made it such a success was innovation. It breathed new life into an old franchise. Not many games have been able to do that successfully. I still remember the epic-fail reboot attempts like Medal of Honour War fighter, and X-com:The Bureau.
Hmm... I feel like I need to go on a media blackout for this game, but honestly I don't know if I can contain myself.
I completely understand that feeling. There have been so many game that I didn't want to end - they don't have to be spectacular games either, just those ones that really draw you into their world. Mind you there a plenty of games that are really good, but then half way through I 'm feeling like "if this game doesn't end soon it's going to get relagated to my pile of shame.
I got to page 3 and came to my senses... not worth the first click.
I second this motion.
Am I the only one who thinks this game is just way too easy - even on hard mode?
^^This exactly is my main concern with the game. Kojima should be applauded for taking the risk and attempting to create a new genre again; I can only guess and wonder what that will be.
I'm looking forward to Death Stranding, but i'm really hoping the plot is not an overly verbose, convoluted mess that requires reams of wiki pages to understand. I love me my MGS games, and I think MGS1 & 3 always come up tops on fan favorite lists for a number of reasons - not least because they were the easiest to follow plot-wise. MGS4 for example while gameplay was phenomenal, plot-wise it was a complete narrative mess - imho.
Yup. Pretty much all the survival mechanics in Breakpoint are completely pointless. I started the game on hard, and didn't even ever have t use a syringe or bandage because the health gauge fills up so quickly. Even stamina regenerates so quickly that there's no need for water etc. I thought this was supposed to be a survival-tactical shooter? It just seems like another noob-loot shooter rinse and repeat game.
Too little way too late.
Man you have to add TLOU to that list. I still remember the E32012 gameplay demo. The hype after that showing was big, but it wasn't at stupid levels; but when the game launched the hype train went into super sonic overdrive.
Most of us have to simply come to terms with the fact that we are game collectors. We collect games, - sure we might get round to playing some of them sometime. But what does it matter. It's like people who collect cars, they don't necessarily drive all of them do they?
So... when's it coming to PS4?
I was literally going to post the exact same comment.👍
I think the gamers are also to blame for the current culture as well. If we didn't blindly swallow everything that is drip fed to us from publishers, without question or criticism. Sure there are the vocal minority (usually the older gamers among us) who try to be the voice of experience, but you have the masses of 'casual' gamers who like lemmings flock to the latest shiny thing - even with it's blatantly exploiting the very same gamer.
It started with paid...
